Best foreign domiciled ETF for S&P 500?

I'm not American and dont live in the US. However, my wife is American, (but not a US resident). I recently learned that upon my passing, all of my US domiciled equity holdings in VOO will be subject to US estate taxes before they are given to my wife! I'm annoyed I didnt know this already, but glad I found out before its too late! It seems I can bypass this liability by moving into non-US domiciled etfs, such as VUAA. I also learned that i can lower my dividend taxes from 30% to 15% in non-US d

Who pays the €9,600 depositary fee from Deka Fond?

[no, I didn't buy it] Hello everyone, it's about this fund: Deka MSCI World Climate Change ESG CTB UCITS ETF WKN: ETFL58 | ISIN: DE000ETFL581 I'm just reading in the sales prospectus about the at least €9,600 annually that has to be paid by someone to someone as a depositary fee. Who can enlighten me about the details? Is this the fee that the Sparkasse pays to Deka Bank to manage shares for its customers? That would be absurdly cheap compared to

Arab attacker opens fire in central Israel, killing 1 and wounding 5

A Palestinian man with Israeli citizenship went on a shooting rampage in several towns in central Israel on Sunday, killing a reservist and wounding five other people, according to Israeli police and the military. The attacker was killed by police. The attack came at a time of heightened tensions following a spate of Israeli settler attacks and the deadly shooting of a Palestinian baby over the weekend in the nearby West Bank. Police identified the attacker as a resident of the Arab town of...

Anyone changing their plans for SpaceX?

Today I learned that SpaceX won't be automatically added to the S&P 500 after its IPO because it doesn't meet the index requirements. For those planning to invest in SpaceX, does this change your strategy at all? Are you still buying right away, waiting, or passing? https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2026/06/sp-500-blocks-fast-spacex-entry-wont-waive-rule-for-unprofitable-ai-firms/ submitted by /u/RadiantFix2149 [link] [comments]

Some honest assessment of my investing strategy and why "steady but surely" beats "get rich now" if you're not devoted to trading

I've recently been dealing with a lot of stress due to losses trading and not timing the AI boom properly, leaving me not only in the red but relatively much worse than if I had just bought an indexed ETF following the general market. This led to me doing some assessment of how much money I would have made had I followed the wisdom of the crowd and not try to DYI my investments. I've held most of my NW in cash, around ~$200k because since 2022 I've been waiting for "The Big Crash" and doing taxe

SpaceX: Why it is almost always better to wait for an IPO first

While around 40% of the companies shown were already in profit in the first year after the IPO, even the later multi-baggers such as Meta, Spotify, Shopify, Dashdoor, Palatnir brutally shook up many investors beforehand. The table shows the performance for the respective time periods and the maximum drop from high to low. If you buy at the *wrong* time, you risk an average temporary loss of 55% in the first year. When SpaceX launches soon, sol

Away from Bitget because of MiCA before July 1st?

I've been using Bitget for futures trading for a long time and I'm very satisfied with it. Since the platform doesn't have a MiCA license, I'm wondering whether I should transfer my USDT somewhere else first. Maybe to Kraken, I also have an account there. I would just have to convert it into USDC first. I don't know how strict that will be, I don't think the money is in danger, but it would be stupid if the account were blocked for a while or something. I think Kraken Pro is great

Dad was at the bank advisor

My father (81) had his bank advisor at PSD Bank persuade him to buy the managed fund “VermögenPlus Strategie III” for EUR 25. Either my father wasn't listening properly or the advisor selectively didn't mention details, but my father didn't remember the key data (investment horizon 5 years, for investors who are more willing to take risks). What I personally don't like are the costs of 2.27% per year, always based on the value of the fund. Hence my question: is there a

Buying a house with unequal equity and inheritance: how to regulate it fairly?

Hello everyone, I need your assessment and tips for buying a property as fairly as possible when there is unequal equity and inheritance (or inheritance expectations). We (let's call ourselves civil servant Bea and employee Anton) are a married couple, live in a community with children and are currently planning to buy a house. To simplify matters, let’s assume a round purchase price of €1 million (including utilities). However, our respective requirements for equity and retirement provision differ greatly: Angeste

Iran threatens US interests and Israel after strike on Beirut

Iran’s chief negotiator warned on Sunday that an Israeli strike on south Beirut and the continuing US blockade of Iranian ports would trigger retaliation. Israel struck Beirut’s southern suburbs without warning on Sunday, days after a ceasefire agreement in Washington went into effect and despite a US request not to attack Lebanon’s capital. Lebanon’s state-run national news agency said two people were killed and 11 wounded in a preliminary count. Iran had warned that an attack on Beirut would..

We have 1.5M euro in investments and looking for a place to retire with this amount. Most is in VWCE. Family of 3 - we are around 40 years old and our child is 8.

Any suggestions? If you had to retire with this amount and a child. What country will you choose? I will be working on side projects which can become successful/profitable but let's pretend this is all the money you have to work with. In addition to the 1.5M we have a property worth 500K that we will rent out to fund rent where we go, or sell to buy property where we go to live. Britain's Net Zero Policy Is Killing Its Chemical Industry

From ammonia to plastics, there can be no modern economy without a functioning chemicals industry, and Britain's is in peril, writes Sharon Todd The recent announcement of a £350m Critical Chemicals Resilience Fund from Chancellor Rachel Reeves is welcome but it is also an acknowledgement of an uncomfortable truth: the UK's chemicals sector is in trouble. Up and down the country energy intensive manufacturing is faltering. The Chancellor has also announced £120m for the ceramics sector, providin

My value picks for the rest of the year

I've posted numerous times that I compare the projected revenue growth and trailing operating margin to the enterprise multiple to calculate what I call a Value Score. The median Value Score for all stocks is about 1.0. If a stock has a Value Score above 2.0, I consider it for a buy. My current portfolio, and what has given me a 65.8% YTD return, is MU, NVDA, GOOGL, LLY, MSFT and META. Despite Friday's pullback, my model says keep holding. Liability insurance

I am a 19 year old student and have zero knowledge of insurance. It has come to my attention that it is totally risky and stupid to live without liability, as something can happen at any time that causes massive financial damage. Of course, I'm not asking for professional advice on Reddit. But does anyone know of a recommended liability insurance policy with which I won't go wrong and will finally be covered? Edit: thanks for the tips. I moved out and don't have my parents
