Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Tourism Association preserved
The state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has rejected a proposal from the CDU parliamentary group, which deals with the current developments surrounding the planned dissolution of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Tourism Association (TMV) and the establishment of a state-owned company by the state government. The CDU parliamentary group demands that the state government take short-term measures to avert TMV's insolvency and resume funding so that the association can continue its tasks. In addition, the in-depth review of the TMV announced by the state government should not be carried out exclusively internally, but rather under the supervision of an independent auditor. The aim of the application is to ensure transparency, parliamentary control and independence in clarifying the events surrounding the TMV in order to strengthen trust in the political decision-making processes and prevent damage to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as a tourism location. The motion was rejected by 36 votes against, 26 in favor, and eight abstentions.
