Changes in the shop closing law
In the Bremen parliament, a bill from the CDU parliamentary group to change the Bremen shop closing law was rejected. The aim of the draft was to permanently continue the previously limited possibility of additional Sunday and public holiday openings in the Bremerhaven Haven Worlds area. In addition, the spatial scope of the regulation should be expanded to cover a larger area of the haven worlds. According to the CDU, this would increase planning security for companies, strengthen Bremerhaven as a tourism location and enable other companies in the area to benefit from the flow of visitors. The motion to change the shop closing hours law was rejected with 43 votes against. 37 MPs voted in favor, with one abstention from Holger Welt (SPD).
