Avantis AVWC vs Xtrackers MSCI World Momentum

Hey everyone, looking for some feedback on a long-term set-and-forget portfolio for my kid. They have a minimum 20-year investing horizon. I’ve narrowed it down to two completely different factor strategies in the UCITS space: Avantis Global Equity UCITS ETF (AVWC) Xtrackers MSCI World Momentum UCITS ETF (X3M / XDEM) Given that this is for a child with zero emotional attachment to daily volatility and a massive runway, which factor premium would you trust more over 20+ years? submitted by /u/mak

Childfree civil servants in Germany

My partner (30F) and I (30M) are both Beamte (German civil servants with lifetime tenure). No kids by strong conviction, no mortgage, no debt. Our financial base is structurally different from most FIRE paths I see discussed here, and I'm curious whether others in Europe have a similar setup, or whether we're genuinely an edge case. We're essentially unfireable with a guaranteed government pension indexed to inflation. That pension isn't amazing, but it's a floor that eliminates the biggest FIRE

Build an ETF portfolio that could survive a crash

I am new to this and would like to start investing part of my salary in the stock market as early as possible. Given the current uncertainty and concerns about a potential market crash, I am considering increasing my share in international ETFs. I understand that investing consistently over time is generally considered more effective than waiting for a market crash and trying to time the market. I would appreciate your opinion on the following allocation: 30% in VOO 40% in international ETFs foc

How do you all study stocks, ETFs, etc. to know if they're good investments?

I'm new to the world of investing and I'm finishing putting together my emergency fund. My next step will be to start investing in stocks, ETFs etc., but I still have trouble analyzing whether an investment is actually good or bad. What metrics, indicators, or criteria do you use to evaluate stocks, ETFs RETs before investing? Is there any material you'd recommend for someone who's just starting out? I really want to learn how to do my own analysis instead of just following "YouTubers'" recommen

Investing Student Loans??

My girlfriend and I have been together for two years, and she’s currently in a doctoral program. I pay for all the bills and she lives with me for free while she’s in school. If she takes out student loans (the interest rate for a federal loan, which we were looking into is 8.07%) to cover her “living expenses” and gives me money for her “share” of the rent, groceries, gas, and other bills, would it be worth it for me to invest that money on her behalf in an ETF like VT or VOO until it’s needed?

What are some of the ways people diversify from the S&P and gold?

I’m currently mulling over how to best diversify and I’m not 100% sure which way to go. I’m about 25%/30% snp. I’m in both the regular snp and the equal weight snp. Got some gold and a commodities ETF - that one covers gold, copper, other commodities etc. What are my options for further diversification? Emerging markets? The Dow? I’ve looked into government debt but every bond/gilt etf I see seems to be plummeting. All thoughts welcome. submitted by /u/mrlebusciut [link] [comments]

Is the Fidelity X corporate benefits VL depot still available?

I'm currently looking for the best way to save my employer's capital-forming benefits (€40) in an ETF. As far as I've read in previous posts here, I've only seen 2 sensible options: Open a depot via finvesto Fidelity depot if you have corporate benefits My employer offers corporate benefits, but I don't see any option to open a depot on the employee offers page. I can't find anything on the Fidelity homepage either

Amundi 2x Nasdaq ETF - Don't panic! It's just the 1:200 split

FYI to everyone who invests in the Amundi Nasdaq-100 Daily (2x) Leveraged UCITS ETF (A0LC12). The portfolios should currently be 99% in the red. These are not real losses, but the split of 1:200 that is currently being technically implemented. Then you have 200x more shares at 1/200 of the value in the depot >>> value impact 0 euros. Give your broker a little time to implement this technically. Here is the official announcement from Amundi from June 9th. https://s.wmdaten.de/?d=14326.# submitted by

ETF’s VS. individual stocks

Buy VOO and touch grass yes! Totally get it…… DCA is a great investment strategy, but does it really outperform choosing the right stocks year after year? How do I balance my long term and my short term stock picking? At this point, put majority of my money into index’s and choose a couple stocks on the side? Need advice on my portfolio…. Am I gambling still? submitted by /u/EquityEnigma [link] [comments]

I've been playing around with a few portfolio ideas on TestFol.io and ended up with five different versions that combine Fama-French Small Cap Value, leveraged ETFs, and trend following. They're all backtested from 1988-2025, and I'd love to hear what people think.

Investing in Spain

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed trying to figure out the best setup for investing and saving while living in Spain, so I'd really appreciate some advice from people who've been through this. I'm 39 and currently have about 15 000 € in savings spread across three different bank accounts. I've realized that leaving it sitting there is probably costing me money because it's earning little or no interest. I also have just under 1000 € invested in the Vanguard FTSE All-World UCITS ETF USD Acc on DEGIRO

Realize ETF profits up to the exemption amount?

Hello dear community, as is well known, ETFs are at ATH and I am up a good 50% on the MSCI World. I'm still studying and need around 1000 euros in the next few weeks (fun expense, already planned anyway). I am now considering realizing MSCI World profits of around 900 euros or less than the tax exemption in order to use the exemption for the first time. I actually planned to take the amount from the current account. Is there something against this? Unless, of course, I reduce my portfolio

Building wealth - Assuming you have to start from scratch

Hello, I had an interesting discussion in the office today. A lot was about building wealth and especially the slightly older colleagues talked a lot about what they would recommend to their children (=it feels like everyone is starting a dual course of study in the company or is studying to become a teacher...). Suppose you had to start from scratch straight after your studies. How would you start with what you know today? What would you do differently and why? I would probably invest more in education

Value factor as a return booster?

Hello everyone, I'm currently reading up on factor investing and would like to get your opinion on a potential strategy expansion. The common mantra here in the forum or as with Finanzfluss/Finanztip is usually: “Keep it simple” via MSCI World + EM or directly as a one-ETF solution via the FTSE All-World. This is absolutely solid as a forecast-free basic investment, but I wonder whether performance is being left behind here. Specifically, I got the iShares Ed

Alternative investment to expensive R+V insurance for retired mom

TL;DR: Mother (65, just retired) was sold an expensive unit-linked R+V pension insurance in 2022 (~2.7% costs p.a., current value ~€107,700). I'm thinking about terminating it and simply and cheaply switching the money into overnight money/fixed-term deposits + a small ETF share. Am I missing something? (Text is structured somewhat with LLM) About the person My mother is 65, recently retired, has a paid-off house and will soon receive a small statutory pension. Chinese profit-taking triggers record gold ETF outflows amid shift to equities

Chinese investors pulled a record US$2.91 billion out of domestic gold exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in June, taking profits as a stock-market surge and a strong yuan dimmed the appeal of the safe-heaven metal, according to the World Gold Council (WGC). Mainland Chinese funds were the biggest drag on Asia’s gold ETFs in June, “as local investor risk appetite continued to improve”, prompting them to turn to higher risk, higher return assets, according to the findings of the council’s report...

Need help deciding an investing app

I currently use Robinhood as I only started truly investing a year ago into ETFs. I always hear people say “open a brokerage account with Fidelity, Schwab, etc.”. My fiancé used Fidelity and said it sucks for easy investing. Looking for opinions of Fidelity or if I should even switch. I only have about 2k in Robinhood right now. Should I keep what I have there or pull everything out and throw it into a different app? submitted by /u/PeachTurtlette [link] [comments]

Advantages of renting vs. ETF

Who decided against the ETF (holy grail, etc.) and in favor of purchasing a property including renting it out? It is difficult for me to understand why one should take the risk and the work involved in a property when the portfolio works passively and (historically) profitably for me. Especially since the main argument of tax-free sales will soon no longer apply after 10 years. So landlord, speak up! submitted by /u/Obvious_Union7863 [link] [comments]

How can I give my mother €2000 per month with as few taxes as possible?

First of all: I have an appointment with a tax advisor in 2 weeks, but I wanted to do some research beforehand and ask you, dear financial experts. Context: I earn quite well (currently around €15K net per month) and it also looks like my job is pretty secure. I have fixed costs of around €4K per month and I invest the rest in ETFs or treat myself to something for my hobbies. Now I would like to give my mother (58) €2K every month so that she no longer has to work. She is currently

Where should the coal go?

About a year ago I liquidated my portfolio because I was planning to buy a house and of course I've been pissed ever since. Buying a house is dragging on because we can't find anything suitable. So there are 700k in the DBX0AN and I regularly throw up what would have happened if I had left the ETF portion in the ETF (although I am happy about the not insignificant portion of Bitcoins that go with it). Since the house purchase is still planned (but will certainly take another 6-36 months) and I eh

Single 41F with a well‑paying job - what's next?

41F here, single, no kids, living in Eastern Europe. I have a net worth of almost €1M: two apartments, and most of the rest invested in ETFs/ equities. Economic stability is important to me - I grew up poor and later had to change professions to earn good money. I speak English and German fluently, have experience living abroad, and work in a technical IT role. I currently have a well‑paying job, but it requires 12‑hour days and is toxic to the point where many people - myself included - end up
