Trump may cancel Freedom 250 concerts to give speech after artists pull out

US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he was considering cancelling a planned series of concerts on Washington’s National Mall commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary after a string of artists withdrew from the event, and replacing them with a speech and political-style rally instead. The concerts were planned as part of the larger Great American State Fair, ‌a 16-day event running from June 25 to July 10, 2026. Organisers said the fair, organised by the Freedom 250 group,...

Best sources for digging into ETF trading/mechanics - institutional perspective

I work in asset allocation and have started helping PMs review tactical ETF exposures and possible substitutes. At first there was some really low hanging fruit but now approaching the need for more under the hood of the trading/implementation side - volume, bid/ask spreads, underlying liquidity, creation/redemption, market makers/APs, basket mechanics. I understand the basic concepts, but I’m trying to build the practical judgment to assess when each one actually matters and how to evaluate tra

Random thought process

Friend asked me a question today. “How to reach 30k€ income in a month?” so the thought process is that ASAP how ever ways you can think of would you be able to reach 9-12 mil € and then invest that so that passively you could get 30k€ every month. My idea was to try to open a company that could later be sold at that needed value. Second and last idea I had that if you would be super lucky and have had 1k€ in early crypto then the goal could have been reached too. What are your ideas? Go! submit

Russia Signs Military Cooperation Deal With Afghanistan’s Taliban Government

Russia and Afghanistan’s Taliban government have signed a military agreement, in a move that signals deepening cooperation between the sides, experts said. The deal was signed on May 27 by Sergei Shoigu, secretary of Russia’s Security Council, and the Taliban’s defense minister, Mohammad Yaqub, on the sidelines of a security forum outside of Moscow, Russian media reported. Neither side has released the text of the military cooperation agreement or offered details about its scope, making it diffi

Do we have a corporate bond wiki here?

Guden to the group, I have about 7K of cash left that I would like to invest in (corporate) bonds. But since I don't know much about it, e.g. what influences there are on bonds that change the value, etc., I would like to read up on the matter beforehand. A stock ETF is out of the question because I need the money in 5 years. Since the amount is now so small that I can easily handle a draw down of 20% (I bought a lot of stock ETFs on liberation day), I thought

How much of the U.S.–Iran news is already priced into oil?

Earlier today I was discussing with a friend how oil could react if a U.S.–Iran ceasefire or broader deal started looking more likely. A few hours later, reports emerged suggesting that a tentative agreement may be under discussion, pending approval from President Trump. As the news spread, oil prices began to react. My initial thought was that easing tensions could reduce some of the geopolitical risk premium that's been supporting oil prices. If that view gains traction, we could see further d

SpaceX will probably be listed on the FTSE All World soon. Is it worth waiting to invest?

Hello everyone, I have read that SpaceX may be included in major indices such as the FTSE All World very quickly after the IPO (in some cases even just a few days after the IPO due to new fast-entry rules from the index providers). Now I ask myself: Does it make sense to wait until the end of June to make new investments (e.g. in the FTSE All World ETF) because the inclusion of SpaceX in the index could dilute the index or change it in the short term? Or is that rather irrelevant and Market Ti

Morocco Is Emerging as a Renewable Energy Superpower

Morocco is rapidly becoming a renewable energy powerhouse thanks to its favourable weather conditions and proximity to Europe. The North African country has rapidly developed its solar energy sector and is now looking to become a major green hydrogen and sustainable shipping hub. Morocco has long been heavily dependent on fossil fuel imports and continues to use coal to produce around 60 percent of its electricity. However, in recent years, it has been working to develop its renewable energy sou

Need investment vehicle suggestion for a private club

I am the treasurer of a small ski club. We are a registered non-profit organization. We charge annual dues, and then also lodging fees when people stay at the house we own in Vermont. Over the years the club has amassed about $50K in our zero interest savings account. I'm trying to get this invested into something very low risk, like a CD or a high yield savings account. The issue is that every type of investment vehicle I find needs to be tied to an individual, with a person's name and SS#. I a
