Bitcoin still in free fall - still under €50,000 this week?

While World ETFs produce very solid returns year on year (the Grail is +26% in the 1-year period), Bitcoin continues to fall. The price is currently €52,000. For comparison: 5 years ago (!) the price was temporarily higher than it is now. Inflation is not even taken into account. Even Dirk Müller can't achieve such negative returns! I've always found Bitcoin to be fun play money. It's clear to everyone that Bitcoin is actually worthless, but sometimes you just want a little

Investing for minors: 529 accts canNOT hold individual stocks directly; what about ETFs?

The 529 plans with which I'm familiar only allow investments in Mutual Funds -- and only certain 529-tailored funds at that. At the other end of the spectrum, there seems to be a universal prohibition against buying individual stocks in those accounts. In between are Exchange-Traded Funds. It's not clear if I can buy any old ETF that I like inside a 529 acct, or only a curated subset of them. Need advice from those who've trodden this path before me. submitted by /u/DeeDee_Z [link] [comments]

Money market ETF or “overnight money” from Trade Republic

Hi, I want to get the money I saved, which is supposed to be used as equity for building/buying a house, from my savings bank daily money account because I only get 0.65% interest there. The plan is to either store it as “cash” at TR or simply invest in a money market ETF. Since I want to get the money “quickly” when in doubt, a fixed-term deposit account is currently not an alternative for me. I know that there are daily money accounts that pay more than 2.25% interest, but I already have an account

FTSE All World + Gerd Kommer ETF makes sense?

Hello everyone, I'm currently only saving for the FTSE All World ETF and I'm very happy with it. But I'm thinking about starting a second savings plan on the Gerd Kommer ETF in the future. I wouldn't sell anything from the All-World, but rather the savings rate in the future, for example. B. split into 75% FTSE / 25% Gerd Kommer ETF. (I currently have almost 70k in the FTSE and a savings rate of 300-500 euros per month, which changes a little depending on my income.) The commercial ETF brings with it a higher weighting

Capital pillar pension insurance. Is it worth it for you?

Hello, since only the wildest comments without any expertise - purely based on feelings like a good angry citizen - are floating around here, I wanted to approach the matter from the factual side. I was wondering what return the bond fund would have to produce to beat a simple ETF savings. Assumptions: Gross salary: 50,000 euros Pension contribution for employees: 500 euros / year Payment into capital column: 1000 euros / year Net loss for employees: 500 euros / year * Limit load = 336 euros

Investing at 23: should I incorporate different sectors?

As someone who has a long time horizon and is okay with volatility, and wants to get the most value out of every dollar invested, I’m wondering if I should incorporate defensive/ dividend stocks or etfs? My portfolio is heavily concentrated in tech/ semiconductors (aside from one international ETF and one consumer stock). The returns have been great, but the dips can be quite rough. Should I allocate some money to different sectors? Or should I just ride the wave and continue the path of technol

Looking for ETF advice: best option for long-term investing?

I'm 21 and I've decided I want to start investing instead of letting my money sit in my bank account. I have around €1,000 that I can invest right now, and after that I plan to invest €100–200 every month consistently. I'm not interested in trading, day trading, or trying to pick individual stocks. What I'm looking for is something simple, ideally an ETF or index fund that I can buy, keep adding to every month, and hold for the next 10–20+ years without having to think about it much. If you were

Buy a camper? If yes, how?

Hello everyone, I'm M28 and would like to buy a camper. I earn 2.9k net and currently save 1k in ETFs and another 200-300 in the account. I would like to buy a camper for around 40k. I get 20k as an interest-free loan within the family. I would have to finance the other 20k myself. I have 51k lying in ETFs. 15k of that is profit. I could now sell 20k or get a Lombardi loan for 20k (28k is possible). How would you finance that?

What % of ETF investors lose money?

It is often said that around 70% of private investors lose money when investing. I'm not sure, but assume this value applies to stock trading. Is there any evidence/studies as to what % of people who invest in an ETF lose money? I think the percentage will be significantly lower, but I would like to know how big the risk of making a loss actually is in the end. Does anyone have any experience with this or knows where to get one?

Multifactor as protection against scams?

Hey guys, short thesis/question: Does a multifactor ETF perhaps also make sense because it protects you somewhat from nonsense changes in normal market capitalized indices? Take SpaceX, for example: Index rules were changed or accelerated at short notice, so that a huge hype IPO can be pushed into passive products much more quickly. And if SpaceX does that, OpenAI, Anthropic & Co. will probably follow suit at some point. Then the normal ETF saver buys such valuations automatically

What's the deal with that ETF that 3 companies make 52% of it? - IUIT - S&P 500 Capped 35/20 Information Technology

I was looking for some IT ETF and came across IUIT. I was a bit shocked when I checked holdings, top 3 are: NVIDIA Corp. 22.37% Apple 16.84% Microsoft 14.37% What's the deal with that ETF that they decided to go so heavily with those 3 companies? What makes it even more confusing is that Google isn't even in top 10 (was not checking if it's included in that ETF at all). What am I missing here, as so far it is probably the weirdest ETF I saw. Thanks in advance for some clarification. submitted by

What is your goal when investing in stocks/ETFs/others?

I'm basically having an early mid-life crisis. I earn €3000 net and have around 1/3 of this money freely available. The 2/3 includes everything you can plan for (inspection, TÜV, birthday and Christmas presents for your girlfriend, subscriptions, living, etc.) The 1/3 are really “over”. Of the 1000-1100€ I save 200€ a month for vacations, 200€ I give myself for leisure activities (although these usually amount to 100€), 500€ go into an ETF and the rest

Question about $SSPC: how does it work?

As many of you know, it's something like a "2x Short SPCX Daily ETF" . I was looking at it, and noticed that if $SPCX was down x%, $SSPC was up 2*x%, almost exactly. How are they able to achieve this? I'm just wondering what the mechanics of this fund are. And if one were bearish on $SPCX and buy $SSPC, is it safe to hold it for a period of time (months)? Or should one get in/out every day, since the name says "Daily". submitted by /u/siskyouthrowaway [link] [comments]

How to really execute the core and satellite strategy?

I’ve been researching the core-and-satellite investment strategy and feel it aligns well with my risk tolerance. For those of you currently executing this framework, I have a few practical questions regarding allocation and rebalancing: - What does your satellite allocation look like? Are individual stock picks generally too complex for retail investors? Right now, my satellites consist mostly of sector ETFs, along with very small LEAPS call positions when I feel strongly about a specific compan

Portfolio Allocation Recommendations - Late 20s

Thoughts on these portfolio allocation recommendations from ChatGPT Taxable - FSKAX 55%, FTIHX 20%, FSPGX 15% Currently I have had a combination of this structure in mainly ETFs. I know from my research ETFs can be better in Taxable Accounts for portability and less likely to receive capital gain distributions. HSA - FSKAX 62.5%, FSPGX 37.5% Roth IRA - VT 100% Too conservative for someone in their late 20s? submitted by /u/zinsights19 [link] [comments]

Are corporate bond (funds) related to stocks? (Markets)

I am investing in World Markets ETF’s and some government bond ETFs I try to avoid corporate bond funds as you often hear that they might be more related to the market and stocks. But thinking about that I wonder if that is true. When inventor expectations are low stock prices fall. But that should not necessarily mean that corporations are unable to fulfill their bond coupon payments. I can imagine markets being down, but corporate bonds are still safe. So my question is, is this alleged relati

Options for follow-up financing

Dear Carbonara disciples, since we are currently almost exactly halfway through the fixed interest rate on our real estate financing, I have started to look a little at follow-up financing and our options. Since we still have a contract from the good old days of low interest rates, we do not put our regular surplus and unplanned income such as bonuses into special repayments, but rather invest them (currently in stock ETFs). This creates perspective

Regions instead of MSCI World

Hi, I've had the idea for a while now instead of relying on one MSCI World, whose weighting I can't change, to instead rely on several region ETFs. Specifically, I have in mind the combination of S&P500, Stoxx Europe 600 and Nikkei 225. This means that the 3 core financial markets are covered in a manageable portfolio and I can adjust the weighting as desired. I realize that this requires a little more effort than with an MSCI World. I'm also missing some side wars

Security component gold - when to put it in?

Hi dear financiers, I started financing in 2023 and am saving a relatively classic world ETF (ACWI IMI) as well as three other individual stocks as a core satellite portfolio. The portfolio now amounts to around 35k with an internal rate of return of 20%, so everything is great on the front. Unfortunately, since I don't earn that much and sooner or later stocks will experience a setback, I would feel more comfortable adding a security component. REITs or

Helping my friends get started with investing - what basics should I cover?

I'm a recent grad, and a lot of my friends are graduating as well. I'm looking to help them get started with investing. Nobody in my friend group works in finance, but I've spent a fair amount of time learning about personal finance and investing. I thought it would be helpful to put together a simple introduction for anyone who's interested. Right now I'm planning to cover: Choosing a brokerage (probably only talking about ones I use: Robinhood, Public, and Fidelity) The importance of compound

Is it worth investing in S&P 500 ETF and which tech/energy stocks to watch?

I'm a beginner in investing, currently holding a small portfolio with NVIDIA as my main stock. I'm interested in: S&P 500 ETF Is it worth entering now? Which ETF do you use — VUSA, CSPX, VOO? Do you invest all at once or gradually each month (DCA)? Tech stocks Which ones do you follow besides 'big tech' (Apple, Microsoft, Google)? Does it make sense to enter AI companies now or is it a bubble? Energy stocks Traditional energy (oil/gas) or renewables? Which specific stocks/ETFs do you follow? I u
