Regarding Tax Managed Investing

Has anyone tried Direct Indexing through a Tax-Managed SMA (Separately Managed Account)? I'm interested in knowing what portfolio performance has looked like after fees, taxes, and withdrawals for income. Also curious whether people have managed to produce tax alpha over long periods of time because I'd assume cost basis of securities shall reduce hence diminishing opportunities. Correct me if I'm wrong. submitted by /u/Radiant-Cloud92 [link] [comments]

To cancel pension insurance or not?

I took out private pension insurance a long time ago. This is fund-based - the good MFK growth. The buyback value is a full €6,000. The pension benefit is €80/month with a 4% performance. I'm thinking about breaking up the thing and putting it into a crappy MSCI World. Some things have been there for two years. How do you see that? The risk is of course one thing. On the other hand, there is mediocre and rather opaque growth. Additionally b

Hong Kong beautician pleads guilty to luring 2 women into Myanmar scam factory

A Hong Kong beautician has admitted tricking two women into forced labour and confinement in Southeast Asia by offering them free flights and accommodation and promising a lucrative reward for transporting 48 million baht (US$1.4 million) more than a year ago. Poon Sum-yi, 33, pleaded guilty at the District Court on Friday to a count of fraud for luring the two victims into travelling to Thailand, before they were “sold” to a Chinese-run scam factory in neighbouring Myanmar for US$54,000 in...

Eisenkot’s new centrist party, Yashar! (Hebrew for “Straight!”), has rapidly been gaining popularity in opinion polls. It is currently second behind Netanyahu’s right-wing Likud. Israelis must elect a new parliament by October 27 at the latest, although the vote was most likely to be held on October 20. Opinion polls...

Why Chinese exporters and shipping firms remain wary despite the US-Iran peace deal

Iran and the United States may have entered a temporary ceasefire, but uncertainty over the agreement continues to cast a shadow over the operations of Chinese businesses across the Gulf region. While the deal has raised hopes that business activity could gradually resume, many traders and investors remain reluctant to make long-term commitments. For Abbas Shi, a Chinese businessman who has been helping connect Chinese companies with Iranian partners since 2024, the immediate priority is...

China keeps an eye on AI smart glasses as privacy concerns come into focus

China has issued the first industry code of conduct for smart glasses powered by artificial intelligence, following public outrage over videos taken by users covertly filming strangers with the increasingly popular devices. The voluntary code calls on smart eyewear manufacturers to adopt a “minimum data collection” approach, provide clear indicators when cameras or microphones are active, and obtain explicit user consent before recording. The guidelines were released on Thursday by the China...

Buy-back offer officially extended to sole tower spared in Tai Po blaze

Hong Kong authorities have officially extended the buy-back offer to the only block spared in the deadly Wang Fuk Court blaze after more than three-quarters of households indicated their intention to sell their flats to the government. Owners of 78 per cent of the flats at the other seven blocks at the Tai Po estate have already signed letters of acceptance to sell their homes under the resettlement scheme in what was described as “good progress” by the government. Authorities said on Friday...

Deposit for girlfriend (pension) transfer

Hello everyone, I would like to create a depot for my girlfriend. Unfortunately, she doesn't want to deal with the topic of pensions/provisions yet. That's why I want to set up a portfolio for her without her knowledge with a neo-broker. Do you think there is a way to create a depot and transfer it at some point? At the beginning I would deposit something monthly. And as soon as she is ready, hand it over to her completely. For me it's not about what I should invest in, but now

As Chinese EVs expand global footprint, banks raise export forecasts

Spurred by the rising popularity of electric vehicles (EVs), Chinese carmakers are consolidating their foothold in the global auto market, prompting international banks like Goldman Sachs to significantly raise their export forecasts. Buoyant overseas shipments have also effectively created a cushion against falling domestic deliveries and an expected overall sales decline for Chinese automotive groups including BYD and Xpeng, analysts said. “China’s new-energy vehicle exports have been...

How relevant is Schufa score for real estate loans?

It's about buying an apartment building, my aunt would sell me her share (my mother has the other share; it's from my grandparents' family inheritance), unbeatable price of €250,000, I bring €45,000 in equity, my mother (owns the other half of the house) would finance the loan with me as security. I'm permanently employed with 4K. Due to a stupid mistake I have a bad Schufa score with two completed entries. Will I still get finance?
