The Federal Government remembers the victims of the popular uprising of June 17, 1953

The Federal Government's commemoration event for the 73rd anniversary of the popular uprising of June 17, 1953 in East Berlin and large parts of the former GDR will take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the memorial for the victims of the popular uprising in the Seestraße 92 cemetery in 13347 Berlin (Wedding). The following will take part in the memorial event: Federal Minister for Special Tasks and Head of the Federal Chancellery Thorsten Frei Governing Mayor of Berlin Kai Wegner President of the House of Representatives
