Revolut deposit limit with Apple Pay now only €10,000. Which alternative to Revolut for deposits with Apple Pay can you recommend?

Revolut has now introduced a deposit limit in Germany since May 28, 2026, namely €10,000 per 31 days. I am currently depositing money from various credit card providers using Apple Pay so that there are no fees. This means I make well over €10,000 every month. You can increase the limit, but you have to verify the credit cards and then select them directly as a deposit option, but I don't want to do that because it might then no longer be free of charge.

Still in private health insurance in your late 40s?

My wife and I are thinking about switching to private health insurance now. We have been in the GKV so far, mainly out of solidarity, but also out of fear of unmanageable contributions in old age. The former is currently running out due to the very high contributions, the latter was recently credibly described by a PKV consultant as unrealistic. About us: M48, F44, married, DINK earnings (TC) M: €120k, F: €80k We have no property, nothing to inherit, but around €300k together in ETFs and T

Hong Kong should adopt the ‘Hefei model’ in the Northern Metropolis

The arrival of Yuan Gujie, the new deputy director of Beijing’s liaison office in Hong Kong, has sparked widespread speculation. Her legal background and experience in Guangdong province suggest that her posting carries a clear agenda: to promote deeper integration between Hong Kong and other Greater Bay Area cities. One thing is clear: if the Northern Metropolis is to accelerate, Hong Kong’s existing legal framework and development model may prove inadequate. A fundamental overhaul is urgently.

How do I get my father's online banking details?

First of all, I apologize if I'm in the wrong place with this topic, I'll try to keep it short. My mother kicked my father out of the apartment we shared and he is now staying with his brother abroad. When he got there, he probably had problems with his smartphone, or more precisely the roaming, and some joker in a dubious cell phone store reset it to factory settings. Of course, he was kicked out of Sparkasse online banking. I h

‘Sky breaks’: in some China regions, lying flat can avoid bad luck; use ‘mending pancakes’

While many Chinese people joke that they “work like a dog” because they are anxious about dropping out of the rat race, there is a tradition in some areas that people can legitimately “lie flat” once a year to ward off bad luck. The day is called tian chuan, or the day when the sky breaks. It usually falls on the 20th day of the first lunar month, and marks the day when the sky that Nuwa mended breaks once in a year. Nuwa is a mythological figure, a mother goddess who is said to have moulded the

Hong Kong principal fired over Singapore row says he will seek legal advice

A Hong Kong school principal who was sacked after he swore at security guards during a student trip to Singapore has expressed “shock and regret” over his immediate dismissal, saying he will seek legal advice on his employment rights. Lee Cheuk-hing, former principal of San Wui Commercial Society Secondary School in Tuen Mun, said in a statement on Friday that he had appointed legal representatives to review his dismissal after the school board rejected his resignation and terminated him with...

Should I expect WHT on STRC stock?

So, as an EU investors if I hold STRC stock, should I expect withholding taxes to be held by the broker? Supposedly the company classifies the payments as "return on capital" which is technically a return of your own money. So the payments are made as tax deferred dividends. Anyone had any experience with these? I think brokers don't need to keep WHT, but if they do it could be nearly impossible to claim back from the IRS. So are there any brokers that will pay STRC dividends to European taxes w

Nato narrowly beats Russia-style enemy in cyber attack simulation

On a recent day, the fictional country of Perantsa was plunged into darkness by a cyber attack on its energy grid from an authoritarian neighbour that had long laid claim to its territory. Nato included the scenario as part of a simulation testing the preparedness of allied countries when faced with the disinformation campaigns Ukraine experiences on a daily basis since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022. The attack from the hostile state named Karti was simulated in Bydgoszcz, Poland, home to
