Buy a car or lease another through a company?

I'm currently leasing a car through AG for 0.5% of the list price - all inclusive, just put the car back in the yard and get a new one. Refueling/charging costs a flat rate of €100 per month. All-in ~€500 from the net. Now I'm wondering whether buying would be cheaper. For example, there is a Caddy Maxi Style, 15k down, one year old, 41k. If I invest the money in the all world, the calculated return after taxes would be €200. Refueling would then be more like €100 more than the flat rate. Copilot says depreciation, insurance

US-Iran ceasefire collapse revives risks of global inflation

China called on the United States and Iran to stick with peace plans after a resumption of missile strikes in the Middle East spurred a jump in oil prices. “Reigniting the conflict does not serve any party’s interests,” a spokesman for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday. “We call on the US and Iran to follow through on their memorandum of understanding, resolve disputes through dialogue and negotiation, and avoid resorting to force.” Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, rose

Indonesia blocks 4.8 million underage social media accounts but are kids any safer?

Indonesia’s attempt to keep children aged under 16 off social media platforms deemed high risk has quickly become one of the world’s biggest tests of online safety regulation, with more than 4.8 million suspected underage accounts removed or deactivated in the first three months of enforcement. For President Prabowo Subianto’s government, the figures are an early sign that major platforms are falling in line with its policy aimed at making the digital world safer for children. Investors have more to worry about than yen bears on the hunt

Why are global investors so bearish on the yen? There are good reasons Japan’s currency should be gaining in value. Last month, the Bank of Japan (BOJ) raised interest rates to a 31-year high of 1 per cent and signalled it would continue increasing borrowing costs. Bond markets are currently pricing in a nearly 90 per cent probability of another increase by December. Nominal wages in Japan have risen by more than 3 per cent for four straight months, the longest streak since 1992. Moreover, the..

Goldman Sachs Sounds Alarm Over Fresh Threat to Global Oil Supplies

A week after it warned that an oil glut is coming, Goldman Sachs has done a U-turn, warning that the renewed hostilities in the Persian Gulf threaten an extended supply disruption. “While Middle Eastern producers have started reopening their shut-in wells over the last month, Hormuz disruptions could slow down the production recovery,” the bank’s commodity analysts said, as quoted by Bloomberg. They added that Middle East oil production remains 10.5 million barrels daily below pre-war levels. “T
