Investing in Spain

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed trying to figure out the best setup for investing and saving while living in Spain, so I'd really appreciate some advice from people who've been through this. I'm 39 and currently have about 15 000 € in savings spread across three different bank accounts. I've realized that leaving it sitting there is probably costing me money because it's earning little or no interest. I also have just under 1000 € invested in the Vanguard FTSE All-World UCITS ETF USD Acc on DEGIRO

IMF Downgrades Global Economic Growth Forecast To 3% Amid Iran War

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has downgraded its 2026 global economic growth forecast to 3%, down from 3.5% posted in 2025 with the impact of the Iran war expected to negate gains made by the ongoing AI boom. According to the IMF, oil prices will average ~32% higher in the current year compared to the previous year while global consumer prices are set to jump 4.7%, halting two years of cooling inflation. However, the AI investment boom is expected to provide one of the few bright spots,

Realize ETF profits up to the exemption amount?

Hello dear community, as is well known, ETFs are at ATH and I am up a good 50% on the MSCI World. I'm still studying and need around 1000 euros in the next few weeks (fun expense, already planned anyway). I am now considering realizing MSCI World profits of around 900 euros or less than the tax exemption in order to use the exemption for the first time. I actually planned to take the amount from the current account. Is there something against this? Unless, of course, I reduce my portfolio

Building wealth - Assuming you have to start from scratch

Hello, I had an interesting discussion in the office today. A lot was about building wealth and especially the slightly older colleagues talked a lot about what they would recommend to their children (=it feels like everyone is starting a dual course of study in the company or is studying to become a teacher...). Suppose you had to start from scratch straight after your studies. How would you start with what you know today? What would you do differently and why? I would probably invest more in education

Farage vs Count Binface: how UK hard-right leader’s poll gambit could backfire

British anti-immigrant politician Nigel Farage faces the embarrassing prospect of going head-to-head with perennial joke candidate Count Binface in a by-election after he decided to quit parliament. His surprise move threatened to backfire on Wednesday after other heavyweight parties confirmed they would not contest the vote for Farage’s seat in southeast England. Count Binface, a self-described “intergalactic space warrior”, is the only other person to have said so far that they would run. In a

West Texas Cowboys Are Cashing In on the AI Land Rush

Forty miles outside Abilene, in the highlands between Taylor and Nolan counties, 421 wind turbines have spun since 2006. Horse Hollow was the largest wind farm on earth when it went up…nearly 47,000 acres of cattle country and mesquite scrub, leased from ranch families who mostly kept running cattle underneath the blades. West Texas doing what West Texas does best…selling the wind nobody else wanted. Twenty years later, the same stretch of the state is selling something else nobody has enough of
