India’s federal government has urged states to accelerate approvals of nuclear and battery energy storage systems on their territories in a push to boost energy security amid soaring power demand, Indian newspaper the Economic Times reported on Monday. As many as 15 states or territories need “accelerated action” on clearances for proposed nuclear power plants and battery energy storage systems, the central government told chief ministers and officials from all states during a meeting last week,

Aramco advertising at the World Cup

A slightly different question, I don't really understand it. Why, for example, was So much Aramco advertising on the boards at the Germany game? Do they simply want to represent their state or do they really think they have to advertise for the largest oil company, which is basically there to finance Saudi Arabia's future? It's not like it's a product that's widely sold through marketing... What do you think? submitted by /u/Key-Support3710 [link] [comments]

Financial help needed - family of 5 struggled

We struggle. We are a young family (28 & 27) with a 3 year old child. We are expecting twins and are struggling quite hard as to how we are going to manage this - financially. My girlfriend is a student and has finished her studies since May. We love children, so we really wanted a second one. The plan was for her to go to work and then take parental leave with parental allowance. Due to the high-risk pregnancy, she is not allowed to go to work; rest with bed rest (medically necessary) is recommended. Dah

Beijing’s long-standing efforts to reinvigorate the domestic economy continue to face headwinds, as the latest credit data points to persistently sluggish consumption and weak investment across China, with the tech sector standing out as a lone bright spot amid the central government’s push for innovation to reduce external reliance. New bank loans totalled 520 billion yuan (US$77 billion) in May, according to People’s Bank of China data released on Friday. The figure trailed the 620 billion...

Moving from a €10k/year Bank Mandate to a Self-Managed ETF Portfolio – Feedback on Allocation?

Hi all, I’m looking to move our family portfolio away from a discretionary bank mandate into a self-managed ETF portfolio. The main drivers are high costs (currently running above €10k annually) and underperformance from the active management. Our horizon is long-term wealth generation (even past retirement, as we will receive state pensions), with some optionality for future life events like the kids' university or housing. The EUR figures below are just for scale, but the percentages are the r

China’s Return to the Oil Market Could Boost Inflation

The U.S.-Iran agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz could prompt China to return to buying more crude after months of multi-year-low purchases, which could reignite inflationary pressures despite the expected ease of oil flows from the Middle East. Late on Sunday, the U.S. and Iran announced a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz more than 100 days after its closure. This re-opening could happen as soon as an agreement is signed on Friday. ETF = AI cluster risk??

Hello everyone, a topic has been on my mind since the weekend that concerns the long-term logic of passive investing and I would like to hear some opinions on it. On Friday, SpaceX (including xAI) went public and immediately exited trading with around USD 2.1 trillion. And OpenAI and Anthropic are already in the starting blocks with their billion-dollar IPOs; the S-1 applications have only just been submitted. I want to talk about the technology itself
