What was a flood of oil and gas leaving the Strait of Hormuz two weeks ago has now ground to a halt as the United States and Iran began firing missiles again and President Trump declared the ceasefire over, calling the Iranian leadership “scum”, “liars”, and “cheats”. Bloomberg reports that, earlier today, there was only one tanker moving along the waterway, and it was a sanctioned very large crude carrier that passed along the Iran-controlled route along with an Iranian container ship. Income tax should be abolished.

I think it is a fundamental flaw in our tax system that people already have to pay income tax even though they are still far from living financially without worries. In my opinion, the basic tax allowance should therefore be increased to at least 50,000 euros per year or income tax should even be abolished completely. Anyone who earns less than 50,000 euros should be allowed to keep all of their work. Only beyond this should the state receive income

Democrat Graham Platner exits key US Senate race, but denies rape allegation

Graham Platner, a scandal-plagued Democratic Senate nominee whose insurgent rise had drawn comparisons to Donald Trump, ended his campaign on Wednesday after a rape allegation threatened to derail one of his party’s best chances of flipping a Republican-held seat. Platner, a Marine veteran, oysterman and political newcomer, won last month’s Democratic primary in the northeastern state of Maine to face Republican Senator Susan Collins in November’s midterm elections. His withdrawal gives Maine...

$130 Billion in AI Data Centers were Just Blocked. Where Does the AI Boom Go Now

In September, Google walked away from a $1 billion data center outside Indianapolis, pulling its Franklin Township proposal minutes before the city-county council was set to vote it down. It wasn’t an isolated incident. Communities across the United States have now blocked or delayed more than $130 billion in AI data centers in the first three months of 2026, refusing projects the industry's biggest names assumed they could build anywhere. This is the problem Bitzero (Nasdaq: AIBZ) spent the las

Dangote’s 700,000 b/d Lekki refinery has been running at full capacity over the past two months, pushing product exports to Europe to record levels and overtaking traditional suppliers from the Gulf and the US. Its rise has already reshaped the West African fuel trade: imports of clean products from outside the region fell by almost 25% year-on-year in the second quarter. Yet Dangote is treating this only as a starting point. The group plans to add another crude distillation unit (CDU), lift tot

How an Accidental Discovery in a Texas Lab Could Reshape Battery Manufacturing

A team of scientists at Texas A&M University accidentally discovered a new method for producing a critical component in lithium-ion batteries. The team, based in College Station, Texas, was trying to study an entirely different phenomenon when they discovered that they could produce graphene oxide directly from natural gas. Not only does this discovery mean that a critical battery component could be produced more efficiently and cheaply, the process also creates green hydrogen as a byproduct. In
