How many holdings before diversification becomes diworsification?

I have seen many portfolios with 40 to 60 positions that basically end up mirroring indexes while still charging management fees. At some point too much diversification just feels like complexity for the sake of looking sophisticated. how many holdings do you all think is normal for a portfolio which is starting to scale from pension funds? submitted by /u/muhammedaroos [link] [comments]
