Looking to begin day trading in my spare time, looking for any advice to someone who's never done it

I was laid off from my job back in January and am the primary caregiver for my elderly father. I am fortunate to be in a safe longish-term financial position so as a result of having to care of my father, I am no longer working for the foreseeable future.
