No Company, Government or International Organization (IO) has ever run a large survey ranking what people actually invest for

There are plenty of large investor surveys (like from Schroders, Natixis etc.), but each is built around its own goal list, and none of them cleanly ranks a population by its single most important reason for investing (like FIRE, Conventional retirement etc.) What I cannot understand is Why this specific study does not exist?
