Financial neglect and disconnected reality of pensioners' lives

Here in the comments and from my own experience, I often notice that pensioners live completely disconnected from reality, while at the same time often complaining. I have uncles (85)/aunts (72) who pay a total of €90 per month to Telekom, which is debited in two amounts, for entertainment, internet, telephone, 2x mobile communications, and rent for a router that hasn't been available for years. Because they don't use Entertain at all, they pay another €15 per month for a TV cable connection to Vodafone
