Chinese President Xi Jinping appoints new military anti-corruption chief

Chinese President Xi Jinping has named a new head of the military’s anti-corruption body. Zhang Shuguang, who was promoted from the rank of lieutenant general to full general, was named as the new head of the Central Military Commission’s Discipline Inspection Commission – the top military anti-corruption body – and director of the CMC’s supervision committee, replacing Zhang Shengmin. Wang Gang was also promoted to the rank of full general and will take over as head of the People’s Liberation..
