Learning the Ropes as a Defensive Investor

I got a copy of Intelligent Investor. My intent is to learn the defensive investor strategy. I was thinking that pharmaceuticals would be a good place to start. 80-90% in to Mutual Funds will continue indefinitely as I’ll never be an expert. l‘m avoiding tech or volatile stocks as I won’t have the stomach for it.
