Why can pensions actually rise faster than inflation?

Why should pensions rise faster than inflation? Or should we base any upcoming increases on any other factor? As a pensioner, I don't generate any added value, become more efficient or do anything else that would justify increasing my pension above inflation. Unlike a salary. If pensions are always (maximally) adjusted to official inflation, no one can complain. You can think about it
