Am I saving too much?

I earn €3,700 net (I'm single, 35). Of that: - €1,200 for housing, fixed costs, fuel and groceries - €300 for leisure time (going out and other things) - €200 for vacation account [EDIT: in addition to the €2,400 that I transfer to the vacation account every month, there are bonus payments and other money left over from other planned fixed costs. This gives me €4,000-5,000 a year that I have available for vacation. No, I don't sleep in hostels and I don't just fly low-cost airlines. I pl

Emergency fund or retirement provision

Hello everyone, I currently have the following situation: I am saving 10% of my net income in an ETF for my retirement planning/possible property purchase and 5% for my emergency fund. Unfortunately, my emergency fund is currently only 2/3 of my net salary, whereas my ETF has saved significantly more. My ETF is currently at its highest level (up 40% since I started investing). Should I sell shares to replenish my emergency fund in the event of an emergency and a crash?

Comerzbank active open real estate fund hausInvest get rid of TER 3.47%

Hey guys, years ago I had an account at Commerzbank. There I was sold an actively managed open real estate fund (hausInvest, WKN 980701) - with a very relaxed TER of 3.47%. I have now switched to DKB and would like to sell the thing and convert it into an ETF. However, the DKB displays “Blocked until 06.10.26 – Open-End Real Estate Fund”. I also see two different prices: “Over-the-counter” approx. €44.20 “Tradegate” €39.64 There

Dividend Stocks in Your 20s Worth It or Just Stick With Growth?

I’m 21 and have my Roth IRA maxed out, all in VOO. My regular brokerage account has been almost entirely Apple for about the last 3 years and it’s done pretty well. Lately I’ve been reading more about SCHD and other dividend focused stocks and ETFs, and I’m curious what the appeal is for someone my age. I understand the basic idea of getting paid dividends and reinvesting them, but for younger investors, do dividend stocks really offer any meaningful advantages compared to focusing on growth? Ar

Thoughts on CQQQ (China Technology ETF)?

I was thinking about doing some geographical diversification by moving some of my US Tech holdings to other countries. Was looking at CQQQ, but the returns look really lackluster this year (down a bit YTD). Is this primarily due to the Iran war? I think there's a lot of upside potential for tech companies in China (looking at Espressif, for example, if it were easy to buy that stock in the US, I'd do that, but it looks like a hassle). Thoughts? Suggestions? submitted by /u/cafedude [link] [comme

[CH] Swiss neo-broker buys 7% of Xtrackers FTSE All-World

Xtrackers recently launched a new FTSE All-World ETF: https://etf.dws.com/en-ch/IE000L6ZMMC4-ftse-all-world-ucits-etf-1c/ The Swiss neo-broker "neon" is one of the few Swiss banks to have free savings plans. The month before last, the Invesco FTSE All-World was swapped for the corresponding ETFs from Vanguard and the new Xtrackers. Invesco costs new and the other two are new free. June is the first month in which the vast majority of customers convert their savings plans

PayPal 24 months 0% credit as an investment

Hello, when I opened PayPal I noticed that there was currently a promotion. You can apply for a digital credit card for in-store purchases with up to €6,800 and 0% interest. I just tested it with €400 and 3 months and it was activated immediately. If you assume positive developments from the MSCI World or something similar, then it is actually a waste not to use this loan and invest in an ETF. The only problem would be that you do this

Grandparents want to save for grandchildren

Hello everyone, we became parents for the first time in May. We ourselves save mainly in ETFs; we have created a portfolio for our child where we will also save monthly in ETFs. We both don't think much of banking products in general (this is mainly due to bad advice in the past and the learning curve). Accordingly, we don't own any and don't know what's currently on the market. My mother has now suggested monthly for our child

Comparing VWCE, WEBN, and FWRA – are they essentially the same?

I'd like to compare VWCE, WEBN, and FWRA, as they seem very similar to me. Looking at their top 10 holdings, they all contain the same large companies and the same countries, in the same order. The sector allocation (technology, financials, industrials, consumer discretionary, etc.) also appears to be very similar across all three ETFs. At first glance, it looks like they're all trying to replicate essentially the same market exposure. However, I'd like to do a more thorough comparison. Are ther

Best Broker for ETF Investing in Greece? Looking for Advice on Taxes and Platform Choice

Hello, My mother-in-law lives in Greece and has a steady income from several rental properties. She is looking for ways to invest some of her surplus cash, and since I have been investing in ETFs for many years, we're considering whether that might also be a good option for her. I currently live in the Netherlands and invest in the accumulating VWCE ETF through Degiro. One of the reasons I use Degiro is that it simplifies tax reporting, which makes things much easier for me. For those of you who

19m with 5k to invest long term

I have about $5,000 to invest and I’m trying to build my first real portfolio. I want to get into ETFs, but I’m not sure how much of my portfolio should be ETFs vs individual stocks. My main interests are AI and technology like chips, software, and big tech, and also materials like silver and copper that are used in things like electronics, iPhones, and chips. I’m also not sure how to approach individual stocks. If I buy ETFs, do I need to avoid buying the same companies as individual stocks to

Pay off heavily or invest minimally?

I recently bought an apartment and it is rented out. I have an interest rate of 3.7% and the remaining debt is around 200,000. I have 1% repayment and can make a 5% withdrawal each year (which I definitely will). I'm thinking about repaying the loan in full after five years. I want to invest the money in the following ways: Either with low risk in government bonds or some fixed-interest items Or: in various ETFs, but these have been so strong lately

Milestone: 10k in ETF reached

Hi guys! This message goes out to everyone who hasn't inherited anything and who doesn't have rich parents! GO ON AND STAY TUNED! I started investing in 2021 after completing my studies, but with around 300 euros per month because I still lived like a student and 3.8 net. Then suddenly life got in the way and a lot happened. For some time now I have been earning significantly less and investing around 55 euros in the ETFs. Largest position is MSCI World, but I have several ETFs

During heavy market volatility, do brokerages modify margin requirements across all accounts? Or is it on a case-by-case basis?

Currently I hold 100% allocation of BOXX ETF, which is considered 'ultra low risk'. My brokerage Vanguard offers a 50% LTV in the form of margin cash against my equity in BOXX. During heavy market volatility, such as the 2008 financial crisis or 2020 COVID crash, do brokerages like Vanguard make sweeping company-wide adjustments to LTV across all brokerage accounts? For example, reducing the maximum LTV on all margin enabled accounts from 50% to 35% regardless of the performance of the securitie

Free funds in GmbH 90k

Hello everyone, I need your crush knowledge. Currently, after deducting all liabilities and tax reserves, there are 90k free in the GmbH. I don't have to make any investments due to the business model. I got an LEI number and opened a depot for the GmbH. Now to the plan: I would like to put 60k of the 90k into an accumulating All World ETF and then save 2k per month. The other 30k ends up in the daily money at 1.7% as an emergency fund.

Newbie question about taxes

I am completely new to the depot business. I have had 0 financial education and have no competent contacts in my life. But I have now taken courage and invested part of my daily savings in ETFs. I was lucky enough to do this in April 2025. Since then, the value of the portfolio has increased quite a bit, to say the least. And now I'm sitting here and I really have zero idea about taxes. Are these capital gains already taxed? Do I have to put them in the

32M, 100k cracked, slightly different...

My learning curve was a roller coaster. I started investing thinking that, contrary to common wisdom, I could beat the market with trading. When I was a bit in the black, it wasn't fast enough for me and KO certificates with MSW leverage seemed to be the solution, including revenge leverage. Well, I think you can see the result quite well... read books from Finanztip and Finanzfluss and started saving. I stubbornly paid into my ETF savings plans, but then the Ora came

Do stocks rise simply because more people have the opportunity to invest?

It sounds like a completely banal or stupid question, but I have the feeling that simply investing through Neobrokers means that a lot more stock volume is traded. Compared to 10/20 years ago, surely there are so many more people in ETFs that this is already having a noticeable effect? Can you even compare today's share prices or key figures with those of 20/30 years ago? Is this a water is wet hypothesis or does the idea make sense? submitted by /u/JonSnowKnowsNothing9

Sell funds with high custody and fund costs and convert them into ETFs?

Hello everyone, a few years ago my mother inherited a six-figure sum and invested it in the local Volksbank - yes, I know. Unfortunately, since I wasn't old enough to understand all the dimensions at the time, I wasn't able to intervene in time. Now I took a closer look at your depot and was a little shocked at the costs. The depot costs around 1.3% of the depot value per year, which is the biggest exclamation mark for me, which is why I at least take a short break

Is a Europe ETF even worth it?

I watched the video from Finanzfluss on the topic of MSCI World + Emerging Markets + Europe and I'm wondering whether a separate Europe ETF really makes sense. Thomas from Finanzfluss builds his portfolio like this: MSCI World, Emerging Markets, STOXX Europe 600 Instead of simply taking a FTSE All-World. (also makes sense) I myself am already heavily invested in the FTSE All-World Index (see photo) and therefore don't want to switch to the classic 3-ETF setup or switch over unnecessarily. (Pay d
