Car loan or not?

Surprisingly, I unfortunately have to change my job and give up my company car. My mistake was not paying more into my current account. I currently have 6,000 euros in cash and 100,000 euros in various ETFs. I now have to buy a car for my new job. Since I need a station wagon and want to maintain a certain standard of living, a cheap car with good equipment would be important to me, within the range of 13,000 to 15,000 euros. ETF = AI cluster risk??

Hello everyone, a topic has been on my mind since the weekend that concerns the long-term logic of passive investing and I would like to hear some opinions on it. On Friday, SpaceX (including xAI) went public and immediately exited trading with around USD 2.1 trillion. And OpenAI and Anthropic are already in the starting blocks with their billion-dollar IPOs; the S-1 applications have only just been submitted. I want to talk about the technology itself

So, let's go

Before I wait any longer unnecessarily, I made the first order. 4x IShares Core MSCI World ETF. There are certainly better ones, it's all a matter of discussion, but before I spend days, weeks, months reading into every ETF and missing the periods in which the whole thing could already be running, I'll just start with this. It's always said, "It's better to start suboptimally than not to start at all." And then let's see how things go with monthly deposits :p submitted by /u/T

Pay off the building loan first or continue saving for ETFs?

Hi everyone, I would like to hear your opinion on the following scenario, as I am not sure whether I have a proper overview of all the relevant aspects: There is a real estate loan with a total term of 29 years. The fixed interest rate is ten years and the interest rate is 3.51%. The loan is repaid monthly. There is also the option of making a special repayment once a year. In parallel to the normal repayment, a savings plan is regularly invested in a World-ET

Bid-ask spreads for UCITS ETFs holding US equities

Conventional wisdom dictates that the bid-ask spread for a UCITS ETF traded on the LSE, that holds primarily US equities, should be lower when both the LSE and NYSE are open, and higher when only the LSE is open. I, however, found this was not the case for the AVGS UCITS ETF, around 70% of whose holdings are US equities. I recently switched from holding AVUV and AVDV in the NYSE, to AVGS in the LSE, to avoid estate tax implications in the US, and to take advantage of the accumulating nature of A

Roast/review my portfolio. AI, Semis, Infra + ETFs. 40M, Europe. Rotate into Nasdaq?

Portfolio allocations as of June: Amazon 11.9% Broadcom 7.6% ServiceNow 1.2% Marvell 0.6% Gold (IGLD.DE) € 5.1% Google 9.2% Japan (IJPA) € 7.1% Korea (FLXK) € 7.0% Microsoft 7.7% NVIDIA 7.7% S&P500 (SXR8) € 23.7% Silver (XAD2) € 2.0% TSM 7.5% Micron 1.6% I'm now taking a longer view, like 5-10 years. For that, I'm looking at rotating 80% into Nasdaq, S&P, or even a total market ETF (Nasdaq is my current favorite). I do consider SOXX/SMH as well (but limited to 20%). I wonder about consolidating

Portfolio review - mid term AI exposure

I'm trying to build a short mid-term ( 3-5 years) ETF portfolio around what I see as the core enablers of the AI revolution, rather than investing only in AI software companies. The amount to be invested would be around 20k euros in lump sum with t212. My thesis is that AI growth will require massive investments in: Data centers (physical infrastructure) Semiconductors (compute power) Energy generation and distribution (the biggest bottleneck) Digital infrastructure and connectivity. Potentially

Gold ETCs. What is the difference?

Looking to buy gold as a small % of my portfolio. Do not hold any now, and did not buy any during the previous year's gold rush. So buying for diversification - not speculation. Looking at gold ETCs, and I see that 4GLD has a TER of 0.00%, but people say that it is misleading. The performance of all of them seems very similar. JustETF comparison page is also not very helpful https://www.justetf.com/en/how-to/gold-etfs.html What should I be looking for? submitted by /u/monitorius1 [link] [comment

VWCE vs. Invesco vs. SPDR: An objective analysis of hidden risks and fees (Is the "King" losing its crown?)

Hi everyone, I wanted to bring up a topic that often gets completely glossed over because of the popular "VWCE and Chill" cliché. I did a deep dive into the three main All-World ETFs available in Europe and looked at their actual drawbacks. We often focus strictly on the TER, but there are other critical factors worth worrying about, such as regulatory changes, replication methods, and underlying structural risks. Here are the hard facts regarding these three funds: 1. Vanguard FTSE All-World (V

Advice for beginner

Hi folks, I am 45 and I want to diversify my investments. My target is to have some cash for when I retire to support my pension. I am already investing (passively) in stocks: I have accumulated around 220k through my job (stock rewards). Everything is in one stock. I am now looking into ETFs to add to my portfolio - VWCE specifically. My question is the following: I have some cash in a bank doing nothing. Do I just put them (- my safety net) directly into VWCE? Should I get more than

Multi-year advance flat rate in the tax return when selling

I hold some accumulating ETFs with a foreign broker and have decided to sell them. Since I have to calculate the advance flat rate myself every year, I will, as usual, have to declare the advance flat rate for 2025 in the tax return for 2026 next year. This means that I have to declare the advance flat rate for 2025 and the profit taxes for 2026 in the same tax return. How does this work? Is there a special field in the tax return where I can enter the tax return?

Non-ETF Stocks to Buy (Long Term) US Resident

I’m looking to buy and “forget” so to speak some stocks for at least 7-8 year. Obviously I’m looking for growth and not looking to sell until 8 years or so. What are your recommendations? I know of the big fishMicrosoft, Amazon, Alphabet, etc but are there any small or other big one I can park into. I’m a beginner so most you have a higher knowledge and in depth experience in this field. I’m just a mechanic. My reason for parking it for so long is just a personal reason. Thanks in advance. submi

Looking for an alternative trading app in Europe

I made €200k in ETFs and my mistake was choosing ABN Amro Bux zero app as it was easy and I was new 4 years ago. Now the app doesn't open for some reason. Not sure if it has anything to do with SPCX IPO. Anyway, looking for an alternative trader app which is reliable for my portfolio, what do you recommend? I'm planning to go to Interactive Broker but it seems to be a bit complex. £210k to invest - I narrowed down to 2, max 3 ETFs, wanted to discuss (90% goes to All-World, rest something for “fun”)

Hi Everyone, After a week of heavy research I think I have finally narrowed down to ETFs I want to invest in. Wanted to ask about final opinion as this Sub was very helpful. I invest in GBP in the UK but these are popular ETFs with Euro equivalent too. 1) £180k – either SWDA or ACWI, the difference is in annual fee 0.2% for BlackRock SWDA or 0.12% for ACWI from State Street. I understand both are the most popular (along with Vanguard) and reputable Global ETFs. 2) £10k-£15k – AVWS – I wasn’t thi

What is the best argument against a large cap Growth ETF?

I see VOO and chill. I know past production isn’t an indication of future performance. I see people getting bashed for Growth ETFs regularly on Reddit. But what’s the argument against it? Some years it doesn’t do as well. Is that it? Lack of diversification? Automod, I’m not looking for specific financial advice. I want to know what the argument against these funds are. submitted by /u/NYVines [link] [comments]

Investing with a US citizenship

As the title suggests, I’m a dual citizen permanently living in Poland and want to start an investment portfolio for the long run (ie. Retirement) and initially wanted to buy out a couple US-ETFs as the backbone of my portfolio along with some blue chip stocks. However due to my IBKR account being international I’m not permitted to invest in US-ETFs and as an American citizen it’s not worth the headache to invest in EU-ETFs (I’ve heard of people registering their broker account to a trusted fami

Asian investors look for novel ways to join SpaceX’s US IPO excitement

Investors across Asia have been largely shut out of the world’s largest-ever initial public offering, which has forced them to find creative ways to make bets on SpaceX’s US$75 billion global spectacle. With no direct access to the IPO, traders from Seoul to Shanghai are piling into companies along the space supply chain, industry-themed exchange-traded funds (ETF) and Nasdaq 100 Index-tracking funds in hopes of eventually capturing some of the gains that many expect once SpaceX shares hit the..

What principle does Trade Republic use to implement ETF savings plans?

Hello everyone, I have a question about the ETF savings plans at Trade Republic. With my old ETF (UBS MSCI World), the savings plan was usually executed in the morning between 9 and 10 a.m. My current Vanguard FTSE All-World, on the other hand, runs more in the late afternoon between around 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Does anyone know what principle Trade Republic uses to determine the execution time? Does it depend on the ETF, spread, liquidity, trading venue or any internal collective orders? I would be interested

Children's Depot

Hello dear community, we have been proud parents for 4 weeks and are thinking about how we can create good financial opportunities for our child or even retirement provision if necessary. An amount X should be paid in by parents and grandparents every month. Thank you very much in advance! subm

Pulled the trigger on FSEG today. I hope this fund does well.

It’s a small cap growth fund. Looks like it started in April. I figure this was a little safer than choosing stocks because I really don’t know how to read the financial reports and I don’t really know how to read all the information that is presented about stocks and funds. I have other mid cap and large cap ETFs too and some some bond ETFs but I want something that might really grow big. Not sure if this is it or not but I’m gonna learn about each stock in the fund and maybe pick some of them
