Emergency fund or retirement provision

Hello everyone, I currently have the following situation: I am saving 10% of my net income in an ETF for my retirement planning/possible property purchase and 5% for my emergency fund. Unfortunately, my emergency fund is currently only 2/3 of my net salary, whereas my ETF has saved significantly more. My ETF is currently at its highest level (up 40% since I started investing). Should I sell shares to replenish my emergency fund in the event of an emergency and a crash?

Thailand’s shrimp industry at ‘lowest point’ as it reels from Malaysia import ban

Thailand’s shrimp industry is reeling from the latest blow to its once market-dominant business after Malaysia this week suspended imports from its northern neighbour, triggering fresh despair from a sector whose revenue has nosedived in the 15 years since it claimed the crown as the world’s largest exporter. Malaysia’s temporary ban on five shrimp species – as well as tightened import requirements for Thai sea bass – came into force on Monday. The trade row comes as Thailand’s fisheries sector.

Comerzbank active open real estate fund hausInvest get rid of TER 3.47%

Hey guys, years ago I had an account at Commerzbank. There I was sold an actively managed open real estate fund (hausInvest, WKN 980701) - with a very relaxed TER of 3.47%. I have now switched to DKB and would like to sell the thing and convert it into an ETF. However, the DKB displays “Blocked until 06.10.26 – Open-End Real Estate Fund”. I also see two different prices: “Over-the-counter” approx. €44.20 “Tradegate” €39.64 There

Tibetology is key to China shaping global views on the region, top official says

Chinese academics specialising in Tibet must find more creative ways to shape the global conversation about the region while remaining strictly aligned with the Communist Party’s ideology. That was the message Li Ganjie, head of the Communist Party’s United Front Work Department, had for researchers who gathered to mark the 40th anniversary of the China Tibetology Research Centre on Wednesday. According to state news agency Xinhua, Li said that the international situation was “volatile” and...

Pakistan Rushes to Secure LNG as Summer Power Demand Surges

Pakistan has issued a new tender for LNG, to the amount of 1 million tons, The Nation reported today, citing the seasonal increase in electricity demand as summer heat sets in. This is the fourth LNG tender for the spot market over the last two months as the country grapples with the fallout from the war in the Middle East. Not all of these tenders have resulted in delivery contracts as in some cases even the lowest bids were deemed too expensive for Pakistan LNG Limited, the state-owned operato

Inheritance dispute: The toilet millionaire, the gold treasure and the AfD

Saving too diligently seems to be unhealthy: "The "toilet millionaire" is actually called Reiner Strangfeld, born in 1938, an engineer who, among other things, invented a toilet pressure flush for the DAL company, now Grohe. He is credited with more than 100 patented developments. Strangfeld is said to have been a loner in his later years; he lived relatively modestly in a condominium in Bückeburg, Lower Saxony. It was in this apartment, an old one
