How to ensure you're not investing too wide as opposed to too deep?

How do you guys deal with the temptation to over-diversify? Or, better said, too invest too wide and not deep enough? Note, this is in reference to my individual investment account, not my roth or 401k. I get that it's generally safer to diversify, but I know that there are explosive gains to be made when you find your NVDA, SNDK, etc. and invest some decent capital into it. I want to be in quantum, photonics, space, software, AI, defense, etc., but I know that I'm likely leaving material gains

Silicon Valley’s AI Dreams Face a Blue-Collar Reality

Most discussions about artificial intelligence focus on chips, data centers, power plants, and electricity demand. Those are all important. But another bottleneck is beginning to emerge, and it may prove to be an underappreciated challenge. The AI boom needs electricians. It also needs line workers, substation technicians, grid engineers, mechanical contractors, welders, construction crews, and commissioning specialists. These are not jobs that can be filled instantly with a software update or a

Roast/review my portfolio. AI, Semis, Infra + ETFs. 40M, Europe. Rotate into Nasdaq?

Portfolio allocations as of June: Amazon 11.9% Broadcom 7.6% ServiceNow 1.2% Marvell 0.6% Gold (IGLD.DE) € 5.1% Google 9.2% Japan (IJPA) € 7.1% Korea (FLXK) € 7.0% Microsoft 7.7% NVIDIA 7.7% S&P500 (SXR8) € 23.7% Silver (XAD2) € 2.0% TSM 7.5% Micron 1.6% I'm now taking a longer view, like 5-10 years. For that, I'm looking at rotating 80% into Nasdaq, S&P, or even a total market ETF (Nasdaq is my current favorite). I do consider SOXX/SMH as well (but limited to 20%). I wonder about consolidating

Portfolio review - mid term AI exposure

I'm trying to build a short mid-term ( 3-5 years) ETF portfolio around what I see as the core enablers of the AI revolution, rather than investing only in AI software companies. The amount to be invested would be around 20k euros in lump sum with t212. My thesis is that AI growth will require massive investments in: Data centers (physical infrastructure) Semiconductors (compute power) Energy generation and distribution (the biggest bottleneck) Digital infrastructure and connectivity. Potentially

Hong Kong commercial landlords may bet on investment to curb tenant loss from AI: analysts

Hong Kong’s older office assets and their struggling landlords could face more challenges as the wider adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) by firms in the city leads companies to relocate to newer buildings that better support their requirements, according to real estate consultancy Knight Frank. AI is poised to usher in more changes in Hong Kong’s commercial office space, and landlords may have to act fast to either refurbish their assets or convert them for new uses, said Lee Elliott,...

Surge in AI-related court cases fuels calls for China to clarify its laws

The Chinese legal system is grappling with a surge of artificial intelligence cases, but experts have warned that the lack of a unified legislative framework is hampering efforts to tackle the problem. In a recent landmark case, a court in the eastern city of Hangzhou ruled against a tech company that had fired one of its workers after he refused to accept a demotion and pay cut, with the company telling him he could be replaced by AI. The worker had been employed by a fintech firm to evaluate..

Market Cap by 2030 for AI infra playes ??

Every article I read nowdays state that AI infrastructure demand is very strong and is going to continue until 2030. There are also articles around Physical AI, still in infancy stage, and that will enter mainstream somewhere in 2028-2029 and peak until 2035. I feel stocks like NVDA, MU, SNDK, NBIS all have had a good run but witht the demand commentry being fed all these should go way higher from here. At this pace all these AI infra players in 5 years should be 25-30 trn Market cap. Where is s

When to short SpaceX? Wait a while but it will probably plummet

My guess very far away around 2028. Goldman projects 322 billion in AI revenue by 2030, blah blah it’s not going to happen. Grok is a pile of shit that says Elon can drink piss better than any human in history (it actually said that). Why am I posting? SpaceX is overvalued, everyone knows that, everyone who bought it l knows that. Some think it will be undervalued, I don’t. Elon has a history of making lofty predictions then moving the goalposts but this never translates to a reduction in his we

Odds on Warsh/Fed meeting is the primary reason for Trump to sign the Iran agreement this weekend

Title. Listened to macro/econ podcasts on how vulnerable we are on the inflation / bond market front and Warsh about to lose the disinflation narrative with the Fed governors on cutting rates. Iran agreement gets at least a rates hold now and we can look for a cut later this year. A weaker bond market now will kill the non-AI investments and spends submitted by /u/Mental-At-ThirtyFive [link] [comments]

The math isn't mathing on the SpaceX IPO

Everyone is cheering the 19% pop like it proves something. It doesn't. Let's actually look. SpaceX closed today near a $2.1 TRILLION market cap. Their 2025 revenue? $18.7 billion. That's a price to sales ratio of about 112x. Not earnings, SALES. And they didn't even have earnings, they posted a $4.9 billion net loss for the year. For context, Apple trades around 9x sales. Nvidia at the absolute peak of AI mania was around 30x. SpaceX just IPO'd at nearly 4x that, while losing money. And it gets

Do China’s export curbs on tungsten threaten Japan’s AI chip supply chain?

Two major Japanese chemical manufacturers could halt production of a gas crucial to AI chipmaking starting next month, as supply tightens and prices surge amid Beijing’s export controls on tungsten. The price of tungsten hexafluoride has jumped more than 200 per cent year on year because of supply bottlenecks, coupled with rising chip demand, market data showed. The gas is a critical precursor in the semiconductor industry, where it is used to develop the microscopic connections inside advanced.

Is withZeta Driving a Re-Valuation of Lantern Pharma?

$LTRN What happens in June? Lantern Pharma has announced a dedicated June webcast focused on withZeta, its AI platform business. The most important question isn’t about the pipeline. It’s whether management starts presenting Lantern as more than a biotech company. Will we hear about: • Paying customers? • Subscription revenue? • Strategic partnerships? • A spin-off or independent entity for withZeta? • A roadmap to commercialize the platform? If withZeta is positioned as a standalone business, J

The unprecedented export-control measure – the first to target specific AI models – came just days after Anthropic released the models, underscoring Washington’s increasingly hands-on approach to regulating frontier artificial intelligence...

Chinese team builds first commercial ‘3-lane highway’ in optical fibre to boost capacity

China activated the world’s first three-band optical fibre communication system early this month, technology that its developers say could expand the carrying capacity of future AI networks. According to the project team, a single fibre can carry more than five times the traffic of conventional systems, while transmission capacity per core increases by nearly half. The project, completed in Qingdao in the eastern Chinese province of Shandong, was jointly developed by state-owned...
