China submarine fires long-range missile ahead of Nato summit

Nato chief Mark Rutte said the alliance “cannot be naive” about China’s military build-up, after the nation conducted its first known launch of a strategic missile from a nuclear submarine. “What happens in the Indo-Pacific is relevant to what is happening in the transatlantic,” Rutte told a news conference on Monday, ahead of the military alliance’s annual summit in Ankara, Turkey. The Indo-Pacific and European theatres were becoming “more intertwined”, as was also shown by China’s support for.

How Bersama could cost Malaysia’s Anwar the Johor poll

Malaysia’s former economy minister Rafizi Ramli and his breakaway party, Bersama, are unlikely to emerge as a credible third force in the country’s political landscape, but they could still siphon votes away from the reformist Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition led by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Bersama’s first electoral test, in Johor on Saturday, will be watched less for the number of seats it wins than for the votes it might peel away from PH in multi-cornered contests, where analysts warn...

Sri Lanka probes prison riot as death toll rises to 27

Sri Lanka launched an investigation on Tuesday into its deadliest prison riot in years, as the death toll from clashes between rival drug gangs rose to 27. Armed police and commandos were not sent into the prison but were deployed to guard the perimeter of Negombo prison, as authorities tightened security following the clashes on Monday that also wounded more than 100. Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara told parliament on Tuesday that a criminal investigation had begun alongside a...

Internacional Golden Butterfly core portfolio

I’ve been pretty much all-in on tech and growth since 2020, and honestly it’s worked out way better than I expected. Lately though, I’ve been thinking about building an actual core portfolio and just keeping growth as a satellite position. Maybe even going 50/50. The idea I keep coming back to is basically an international take on the Golden Butterfly: 40% VT 20% SHY 20% TLT 20% GLD Curious what you guys think. Am I overthinking it after a great run, or does this make sense? submitted by /u/hill

Getting rid of NVDA or AVGO (Broadcom)?

Hi everyone, I'm holding both NVDA and AVGO stock and am looking to derisk given the uncertainty/possibility of an AI bubble bursting and the fact that I'm holding multiple AI-focused stocks at once. If you had to get rid of one stock to derisk and reinvest elsewhere (most likely a safer ETF), which would you sell today? NVDA or AVGO? Curious to hear your thoughts! Not necessarily investing advice but more your moves. submitted by /u/Sensitive-Avocado972 [link] [comments]

To boost manufacturing, India need not choose between Japan and China

Last week, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi led a business delegation to New Delhi for the 16th India-Japan annual summit. During last year’s summit in Tokyo, Takaichi’s predecessor, Shigeru Ishiba, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined the Japan-India Joint Vision for the next decade – during which period India may see up to 10 trillion yen (US$62 billion) in investment from Japan. Some of Japan’s most notable investments in India have been in the financial sector. Japanese...

4 Million Barrels of Saudi Crude Set to Transit Strait of Hormuz

Two very large crude carriers loaded with Saudi crude are heading for the Strait of Hormuz in the latest sign of recovering traffic via the vital oil chokepoint. The tankers are owned by Japanese companies, Reuters said in a report citing data from Kpler and LSEG. According to the Kpler data, the tankers, operated by Nippon Yusen KK and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, had loaded Saudi crude on March 1, after which they got stuck in the Strait of Hormuz after Iran shut down traffic through the waterway.
