Hello everyone, I currently live in the Netherlands, but work in Germany (where I grew up) as an FP&A / Financial Analyst for an international company. Financially, my current situation in Germany is very attractive, especially because of my salary and my tax situation (tax class III). Is talk of a balanced trade balance a myth?

I have often heard that countries should have a balanced trade balance. But isn't the whole of Europe based on the principle of constant trade surpluses?
