Five Energy Stocks Riding Texas's Data Center Power Boom

Fly into Abilene, Amarillo or Midland this year and you'll see the buildout before you land: cranes over half-finished turbine halls, miles of freshly trenched pipeline right-of-way, and fenced-off scrubland that a year ago grew nothing but mesquite and cotton. Texas has become the epicenter of America's AI data center boom, and unlike a lot of things AI, the money behind it is already spent, not just promised. ERCOT, the grid operator that runs most of the state's power market, now projects ele

How do you determine the purchase price in EUR for crypto purchases via USDT?

Hello everyone, how do you actually find out the correct purchase price for crypto if you only have CSV files from the exchange? I often exchanged EUR to USDT and then used USDT to buy various coins. In some cases there were several purchases, sales and reallocations. Now it's not entirely clear to me how I should calculate the real purchase price in EUR per coin. Do you do this manually, with a tax tool or through a tax advisor? Above all, I'm interested in how you get along

Jewellery worth millions of euros stolen in French museum burglary

Burglars stole millions of euros’ worth of jewellery from the museum of French luxury glassmaker Lalique in a daring early-morning raid on Sunday, just months after a stunning gem robbery at the Louvre in Paris. A gang of masked thieves broke in to the museum in Wingen-sur-Moder in northeastern France at around 5.30am local time, forcing a door before heading for the jewellery room and smashing open six display cases, a source close to the investigation told Agence France-Presse. “Around 20...

Trump to meet Ukraine’s Zelensky and Syria’s Sharaa during Nato summit in Turkey

US President Donald Trump plans to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa on Wednesday while attending the Nato summit in Turkey, the White House said. The Era of Cheap U.S. Natural Gas May Be Coming to an End

U.S. natural gas prices are set to rise through 2035, following a decade of low Henry Hub prices, as the AI data center boom and the expansion of U.S. LNG export infrastructure will underpin strong demand, analysts at Wood Mackenzie say. During the decade to 2025, the benchmark U.S. Henry Hub prices remained in a narrow range of between $2 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) $4 per MMBtu, thanks to the surge in U.S. gas production as operators invested in standalone gas plays and boosted a

White supremacists’ July 4 march counts as free speech, US interior secretary says

Federal officials had no reason to stop a white supremacist group’s July 4 rally in Washington because of free speech protections, US Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said on Sunday. Hundreds of masked Patriot Front members who marched through the nation’s capital on Independence Day on Saturday did nothing illegal, Burgum told CNN’s State of the Union programme. Although the organisation’s ‌white supremacist, anti-immigrant ideology is “nothing that I could possibly agree with”, Burgum said,..

The Trump 702 deregulation plan dropped Friday. I ranked which tickers will likely benefit from it

So the White House published its regulatory agenda Friday. 702 rules on the chopping block, biggest semiannual list ever, claiming $1.5 trillion in savings. I went down a Federal Register rabbit hole this weekend and the picture is more interesting than that. The catch nobody will mention: most of that $1.5T is already done. About $1.3T of it comes from killing the endangerment finding, which happened back in February. The NEPA environmental review regs got gutted between January and April. Frid

Egypt’s President el-Sisi inaugurates massive new military headquarters

Egypt has inaugurated a new armed forces headquarters, which observers say is the largest in the world, with an elaborate ceremony and a rare appearance from the president and former general Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi in military uniform. The Octagon, as the complex is being called, consists of eight buildings each with an eight-sided floor plan in an area of around 90 sq km (34.7 square miles), the size of the Portuguese capital Lisbon. It has replaced the Pentagon, the headquarters of the US Defence

Update: A year later, the initial €10,000 has become almost €30,000

Starmer Out, Burnham In: What Changes for UK Energy Policy?

With Kier Starmer stepping down as the United Kingdom’s Prime Minister (PM), it looks increasingly likely that Andy Burnham, who is known as the “King of the North”, will take his place as the leader of the Labour Party and PM in July. The Member of Parliament for the northern English constituency of Makerfield has significant political experience, having served as Mayor of Greater Manchester, but what are his plans for British energy? Burnham has a long history in politics, serving as Shadow Ho

UK hard-right leader Farage faces new allegations over gifts

Hard-right British politician Nigel Farage on Sunday faced fresh allegations over non-disclosure of gifts after a newspaper reported a convicted fraudster paid for his security and staff before he became an MP. An MP said he had asked parliament’s standards commissioner to investigate the new claims against the leader of the anti-immigration Reform UK party, which is currently leading in opinion polls. Farage is already the subject of an investigation by the parliamentary anti-sleaze watchdog...

[The content of this article has been produced by our advertising partner.] For two decades, Professor Robert Li’s rigorous, yet practice-grounded research has bridged academia and the hospitality and tourism industry, giving it a new lens for examining its conventional wisdom. Since joining the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School in January 2025, he has brought what he calls the “compleat scholar” approach to the School, a philosophy that integrates cross-disciplinary...

Japanese space probe, size of a fridge, flies near asteroid in planet defence test

A Japanese space probe performed a fly-by of a near-Earth asteroid on Sunday, in a test mission for technology that could help protect the planet from space rocks. The fridge-sized Hayabusa2 was due to fly within 800 metres (0.5 miles) of asteroid Torifune, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) scientists said earlier, a trial run to see whether such a probe could deflect a potentially dangerous space rock away from Earth. The mission comes after Nasa deliberately smashed a spacecraft into..
