Shell And ExxonMobil Are Betting Billions On Nigeria's Deepwater Comeback

Nigeria is trying to rebuild its energy industry from the ground up, not only trying to recover lost crude production, but working to turn itself into Africa’s dominant refining, gas, capital markets and energy export hub. The clearest test is the Dangote Refinery. The 650,000-barrel-per-day plant has already changed Nigeria’s fuel market and is now preparing for what could become the largest IPO in African history. Dangote Refinery is seeking to raise around $4 billion at a valuation of roughly

Trump says he is building a White House helipad for more powerful Marine One helicopter

US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he is building a granite helipad on the White House lawn, insisting that the landing area is needed to accommodate new, more powerful presidential choppers. Confirmation of the project came as construction crews had already begun working on the helipad on the South Lawn, where the president had UFC build a temporary arena for a cage fight celebrating his 80th birthday. He said the project would be privately funded and estimated its cost at up to US$6

Saudi Arabia Ships 34 Million Barrels Through Hormuz Despite Thin Tanker Traffic

Saudi Arabia has shipped roughly 34 million barrels of crude through the Strait of Hormuz since the June 17 ceasefire, according to Kpler cargo-tracking data, even though only about 27 commercial vessels per day have been transiting the waterway with active AIS signals, according to IMF PortWatch. Commercial traffic remains at roughly one-third of its pre-war level of about 84 daily vessel transits, even as crude exports continue to recover. On July 4, only 25 vessels crossed the strait with act

If China keeps growing, what are the better ways to get exposure without buying Chinese stocks directly?

Hi everyone, After my last post about whether the Chinese stock market is actually investable, most people basically said to avoid it. I get the concerns. I understand why a lot of people don’t want direct exposure to Chinese equities. At the same time, I still think the China story is far from over, especially in areas like AI chips, robotics, EVs, batteries, and other industrial sectors. So for this post, I’d rather forget about direct Chinese stock investing and talk about other ways to benef

What is everyones opinion on Trump kids accounts? Choosing BNY and Robinhood to manage the initial apps seems suspect to me at best

Seems odd to choose these two companies instead of trusted brokerages but I honestly dont know how this stuff works. I know BNY Mellon from only one thing and that's Epstein trafficking money transactions. As for Robinhood unfortunately I use it and may have to stop but to me it seems like they've turned a lot of young people on to investing only to try and bait them into options/predictions markets (gambling and overwhelmingly losing). Plus the whole Gamestop/Beyond Meat scandal with pausing pe

Does Fidelity process incoming wires much slower than Schwab?

I’ve noticed that whenever I send a domestic wire from Bank of America, it seems to reach my Schwab account much faster than my Fidelity account. The wire instructions are correct, and both accounts are in my name. Schwab often credits the funds pretty quickly, while Fidelity usually takes noticeably longer. Is this just how Fidelity processes incoming wires, or is there something I could be doing wrong? Has anyone else consistently experienced slower incoming wire times with Fidelity compared t

The Energy Institute has released the 2026 Statistical Review of World Energy, published in partnership with Ember and in collaboration with KPMG and Kearney. France’s Macron in Syria on first post-Assad visit by a Western leader

French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Damascus on Monday for the first visit by a Western European head of state since Syria’s new authorities took power. President Ahmed al-Sharaa has been rebooting Syria’s international credentials and seeking to revive his struggling country after toppling long-time ruler Bashar al-Assad in December 2024. “I have come to reaffirm France’s commitment to the Syrian people. To a sovereign Syria, united in its diversity and at peace with its neighbours,”...
