Alibaba Group Holding has launched its first suite of artificial intelligence models for robots, joining a global race to move AI out of chatbot windows and into the physical world. 380k capital, no debt and want to invest

Hello, 50 years old and have 380k mostly tied into CDs. Have a little over 400k in my 401k. Do not own a home, no debt, make 103k annually and guess just scared to invest and lose money, since I am not the best with stocks. I have about 50 shares of Nvidia that I purchased a while back and thinking of investing more. Any thoughts? S&P 500? Remain in Cds? Its only 4% now, so I think I should invest in better things. TIA! submitted by /u/Darby_Crash75 [link] [comments]

Taiwan’s website for intelligence tips from mainland China spurs debate

Taiwan’s new website for mainland Chinese to securely report intelligence-related information has sparked debate over whether it is workable. The self-governed island’s National Security Bureau (NSB) on Sunday said it had established a “contact window” to collect political, military, economic and social intelligence from mainland China. The bureau said the initiative was modelled on the practices of intelligence agencies in the United States, Britain and Israel. It cited public dissatisfaction..

North Korea plays US-China rivalry card to justify ‘irreversible’ nuclear status

North Korea’s latest spirited defence of its nuclear arsenal signals a strategy that goes beyond rejecting international calls to disarm and instead leans into mounting global superpower rivalry to legitimise its weapons build-up. The verbal offensive comes as North Korea could soon face renewed pressure to return to the negotiating table. Analysts say the winding down of the Iran conflict may allow Washington and its allies to refocus attention on the Korean peninsula. Pyongyang has also seized

US judge dismisses Elon Musk’s xAI trade secret lawsuit against OpenAI

A federal judge on Monday dismissed a lawsuit by Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, that accused rival Sam Altman’s OpenAI of stealing ‌trade secrets for chatbots. Lin ‌dismissed the case with...

The Case Against Government Buying Into the AI Giants

When Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump agree on something, that agreement deserves examination. Both are touting the idea that the federal government should have an ownership stake in major artificial intelligence (AI) companies. For Sanders, this would be a way for the American people to share in the wealth generated by AI companies that those companies accumulated through the theft of other people's writing, artworks, photos, videos, and recordings. And it would give the government a seat at the

redistribute Intel stock or hold?

I've only been investing for a couple of years. I bought $1500 worth of Intel at an avg. of $36/share thinking they were going to recover to $60 after a few years. It's blown up unexpectedly to over $100/share in a short time since buying, pulled my principle out and left the rest. Since it's not a large position I don't have specific plans for the money. My sense of responsibility and logic is telling me to sell and redistribute into my automated account so the unexpected gains have a better ch
