India’s $100 Billion Grid Bet Is Accelerating A Solar Manufacturing Boom

Just a decade ago, the Indian government seemed hell-bent on using coal to power its industrialization drive, with large-scale solar energy virtually unheard of in the country apart from a few microgrids serving remote rural villages and rooftop installations. In early 2015, the Modi administration set a goal to double domestic coal output to roughly 1.5 billion tonnes by 2030. However, the country’s energy landscape has since undergone a massive transformation in a short space of time. While th

IMF Downgrades Global Economic Growth Forecast To 3% Amid Iran War

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has downgraded its 2026 global economic growth forecast to 3%, down from 3.5% posted in 2025 with the impact of the Iran war expected to negate gains made by the ongoing AI boom. According to the IMF, oil prices will average ~32% higher in the current year compared to the previous year while global consumer prices are set to jump 4.7%, halting two years of cooling inflation. However, the AI investment boom is expected to provide one of the few bright spots,

Realize ETF profits up to the exemption amount?

Hello dear community, as is well known, ETFs are at ATH and I am up a good 50% on the MSCI World. I'm still studying and need around 1000 euros in the next few weeks (fun expense, already planned anyway). I am now considering realizing MSCI World profits of around 900 euros or less than the tax exemption in order to use the exemption for the first time. I actually planned to take the amount from the current account. Is there something against this? Unless, of course, I reduce my portfolio

West Texas Cowboys Are Cashing In on the AI Land Rush

Forty miles outside Abilene, in the highlands between Taylor and Nolan counties, 421 wind turbines have spun since 2006. Horse Hollow was the largest wind farm on earth when it went up…nearly 47,000 acres of cattle country and mesquite scrub, leased from ranch families who mostly kept running cattle underneath the blades. West Texas doing what West Texas does best…selling the wind nobody else wanted. Twenty years later, the same stretch of the state is selling something else nobody has enough of

Russia Bans Diesel Exports Amid Heavy Ukraine Attacks On Refineries

Russia has officially banned all diesel exports in a bid to secure its domestic fuel market following highly destructive Ukrainian drone strikes on its energy infrastructure. According to Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, the embargo covers all diesel exports, closing a loophole that allowed self-producing oil firms to sell fuel abroad. The ban is scheduled to remain in place through the end of July. On Tuesday, a long-range Ukrainian strike successfully crippled Gazprom Neft’s Omsk oil ref

Value factor as a return booster?

Hello everyone, I'm currently reading up on factor investing and would like to get your opinion on a potential strategy expansion. The common mantra here in the forum or as with Finanzfluss/Finanztip is usually: “Keep it simple” via MSCI World + EM or directly as a one-ETF solution via the FTSE All-World. This is absolutely solid as a forecast-free basic investment, but I wonder whether performance is being left behind here. Specifically, I got the iShares Ed

What will happen to the stock market if the iran war drags on for years?

If the war in iran keeps on going on, the price of oil will never go down and prices of everything will skyrocket. Can this drag the stock market into a correction or possibly a crash? We already see how fragile the economy is with very low jobs numbers and the s&p 500 being carried by the ai hype so im concerned this can be the last tipping point that breaks everything. Im not saying we shouldn’t invest but im saying its a big concern not many are speaking of because everytime theres good news

UK Airline Turns Fuel Price Surge Into $500 Million Windfall Through Hedging

Jet2 recorded a nearly £400m boost from the rising price of jet fuel which caused widespread fear that summer holidays could be cancelled and airlines could go bust. The package holiday provider revealed that it defied the travel chaos caused by the Middle East conflict to instead take a £388m balance sheet boost from rising jet fuel prices. Because the company had already locked in low fuel prices with its suppliers, the rising market cost of fuel meant that the value of its fuel contracts soar
