What are the point of bond funds? (SWAGX)

I have about 25% bonds in my portfolio. I set this allocation back when I started, so I would at least Be somewhat protected. Looking at performance I might as well kept it in a HYSA or something. I know if interest rates drop bonds would go up but they are already fairly low and probably will be hikes in the future. Since 2017 this fund is down about 10%. At least the rest of my portfolio is in the SP500/total market. I’m not really asking for help just wondering why this even exists lol submit

Russia Faces Growing Fuel Crunch as Ukrainian Strikes Knock Out Refineries

Russia is facing its worst nationwide fuel shortages in years, with at least 17 regions imposing mandatory restrictions on gasoline and diesel sales, and dozens of others reporting shortages or restrictions by private fuel companies. The increasing scarcity of fuel has been caused mainly by a widening campaign of Ukrainian drone strikes targeting oil terminals, refineries, and pipelines. The largest fuel supplier to the Moscow region, the Kapotnya refinery, was hit twice this month; the plant wi

China to Increase Fuel Export Allowances for July

China is raising the volume of fuels it is allowing state refiners to export, in a move that would alleviate concerns about tight refined petroleum supplies in Asia. China’s authorities this week met with executives from Chinese state-controlled refiners and told them they are now allowed to export up to 800,000 metric tons of refined petroleum products in July, trade sources told Reuters on Thursday. That would be up from an estimated total export volume of about 600,000 tons for June. China is

India’s economy could return to the trajectory to grow by 7% and even more in the fiscal year through March 2027 if oil prices remain close to the current $70 per barrel, according to a senior official at India’s central bank. Oil prices at about $70 a barrel eased tensions in the Middle East, and a pick-up in tanker traffic at the Strait of Hormuz would reduce upward pressure on India’s inflation and improve the outlook for its economy, Nagesh Kumar, an external member of the Reserve Bank of In

President Donald Trump has listed Exxon, Chevron, Shell, and BP as being among companies responsible for excessively high fuel prices, following the announcement of a federal government probe into price-gouging earlier in the week. “Oil prices have come down so much and we are not seeing anything at the pump by comparison the way they should be,” the U.S. president told media, as quoted by the BBC. “We should be, in my opinion, at $2.25 [a gallon] right now at the pump and we are higher than tha
