China among top gold buyers as bullion overtakes US Treasuries in global reserves: ECB

China is one of the world’s largest buyers of gold as central banks shift towards the precious metal, which has overtaken US Treasuries to become the world’s top reserve asset amid higher valuations and its appeal as a geopolitical hedge, the European Central Bank said. The world’s second-largest economy was the fourth-largest per-country buyer of gold in 2025 after Poland, Kazakhstan and Brazil, purchasing about 25 tonnes, the ECB stated. It estimated that China had bought more than 350 tonnes.

I wonder how you all have your accounts organized

So, I'm learning the basics and I like compartmentalisation. I have my main bank account (ING) where I get my paycheck, pay the bills, day to day expenses, etc, then a second bank account (Trade Republic, 2% interest) where I keep my emergency fund, then a third bank account (Renault Bank, 2,02% interest) for my vacation money, and a fourth account (Bank Norwegian, 2,35% interest) for home renovations + future car. Every month I automatically send some money to the vacations and the home renovat

voo vs. voo/vxus - is voo higher risk, but higher reward?

opening a $400k brokerage. deciding between voo or voo/vxus. a lot of people recommend two or three funds, including international... but i've been running test numbers (https://testfol.io/?s=lCKpRn6Bv9x), and over a 20+ year period, it looks like voo by itself would win out. obviously we can't predict what happens in the future, but is the idea here that voo historically outperforms, but including the international helps lower the risk potential in case the s&p 500 crashes like it did in the ea

Found out a trader made $1M betting on US military strikes before they happened and its completely legal

I saw this on the house.gov website earlier, and I thought it was wild. Basically, there's documented evidence of a single trader who made nearly a million dollars betting on US military strikes against Iran. 93% success rate. He was placing bets hours before each attack happened. October 2024, June 2025, February 2026. Congress is now investigating, and subpoenas are being discussed. On top of that 38 separate accounts made over 2 million dollars on one strike alone after loading their accounts

Milestone: 10k in ETF reached

Hi guys! This message goes out to everyone who hasn't inherited anything and who doesn't have rich parents! GO ON AND STAY TUNED! I started investing in 2021 after completing my studies, but with around 300 euros per month because I still lived like a student and 3.8 net. Then suddenly life got in the way and a lot happened. For some time now I have been earning significantly less and investing around 55 euros in the ETFs. Largest position is MSCI World, but I have several ETFs
