if i want to go 100% s&p 500, through fidelity... is fxaix (for roth) and voo (for brokerage) the recommended setup?

my understanding is fxaix is best for roth because it's a tax advantaged account, and the expense ratio (0.015%) is lower than voo (0.03%)... and voo is best for a taxable brokerage because it's transferrable, should i ever wish to move away from fidelity. is this accurate? or should i go with the same thing for both, whether that's fxaix or voo? (roth ira is at $25k and brokerage will be starting with $400k, if this is relevant. employer 401k is mmwvt, $420k, through merrill lynch. will not be

S&P 500 will not be fast tracking SpaceX entry into its index and it won't waive its rule for unprofitable AI companies

The June 4 decision means that SpaceX will not gain accelerated access to potentially billions more dollars through passive investment funds that automatically purchase shares of S&P 500 companies. Modifying the rules in response to SpaceX’s request could have also allowed leading AI companies such as OpenAI and Anthropic to gain entry not long after their own expected IPOs. That possibility has now been shuttered. As a primarily boglehead investor, this is the best news I've heard all week. htt

We have 1.5M euro in investments and looking for a place to retire with this amount. Most is in VWCE. Family of 3 - we are around 40 years old and our child is 8.

Any suggestions? If you had to retire with this amount and a child. What country will you choose? I will be working on side projects which can become successful/profitable but let's pretend this is all the money you have to work with. In addition to the 1.5M we have a property worth 500K that we will rent out to fund rent where we go, or sell to buy property where we go to live. Which company could become the Chinese Pfizer? Here are analysts’ top picks

A handful of Chinese biotechnology companies are expected to bring medications to consumers in Europe and the US under their own brand names within the next 10 to 15 years, according to policy and industry analysts. Amid China’s early-stage drug outlicensing boom, discussions have arisen among investor and analyst circles as to when – and which – Chinese biotechnology companies will start selling their own drugs internationally. Outlicensing agreements typically refer to a company granting...

Did I miss something?

Hello everyone, I'm asking about your swarm intelligence. The pension value per earnings point has increased from 6.34 DM to 42.52 euros from 1960 to today. This corresponds to an annual return of approximately 4.2 percent. In addition, the average length of pension receipt has doubled from 10 to 20 years between 1960 and today. How much does this increase the return again? Unfortunately, the AI wasn't very helpful. I guess, all in all, the return on a salary point is from 1960 to today

Hong Kong should adopt the ‘Hefei model’ in the Northern Metropolis

The arrival of Yuan Gujie, the new deputy director of Beijing’s liaison office in Hong Kong, has sparked widespread speculation. Her legal background and experience in Guangdong province suggest that her posting carries a clear agenda: to promote deeper integration between Hong Kong and other Greater Bay Area cities. One thing is clear: if the Northern Metropolis is to accelerate, Hong Kong’s existing legal framework and development model may prove inadequate. A fundamental overhaul is urgently.

Should I expect WHT on STRC stock?

So, as an EU investors if I hold STRC stock, should I expect withholding taxes to be held by the broker? Supposedly the company classifies the payments as "return on capital" which is technically a return of your own money. So the payments are made as tax deferred dividends. Anyone had any experience with these? I think brokers don't need to keep WHT, but if they do it could be nearly impossible to claim back from the IRS. So are there any brokers that will pay STRC dividends to European taxes w

What happens if you adjust the stock market for ALL the money printed by the Top 10 economies?

We all know the stock market has been on an absolute tear over the last two decades. But how much of that is actual, productive company growth, and how much is just central banks firing up the money printers worldwide? If we treat the total expansion of the global money supply as our baseline for "zero percent growth," the real returns of our portfolios look entirely different. Instead of just looking at the US and Europe, let's look at the top 10 economies. Because the stock market is a global

Central Asia tipped to be Hong Kong’s next logistics hub: Airport Authority head

Central Asia can become a strategic logistics hub for Hong Kong as wars in the Middle East and Europe persist, with cargo volume between the city and two countries in the region surging nearly fivefold year on year, the Airport Authority chairman has said. Fred Lam Tin-fuk, who joined a recent trip with Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu to Central Asia, also said on Sunday that passenger traffic at Hong Kong airport could reach 70 million this year, recovering to nearly pre-Covid levels. “Central

How to deal with small amounts of money

I would like to invest but I only have small amounts (1-2k euros a month) that I can put it. I have been wondering what is a good approach in my case - put it all in a broad ETF of stocks as it has generally returned 8% long term adjusted for inflation or pick stocks. The former will grow always, unless capitalism fails, but generally slowly. The latter is riskier but it could outperform. The question is does it make sense to put the money in one diversified place or try to squeeze that outperfo

Financed car turns out to be a repair trap - what next? (Ford Focus MK4, 156,000 km)

Hello, I need your advice. In 2025 I financed a Ford Focus MK4 1.5 EcoBlue automatic (EZ 12/2020, 136,000 km) from a dealer for 12,000 euros plus interest. Unfortunately, this purchase later turned out to be a mistake. After an accident in which a tension belt from a vehicle in front damaged my car, the expert found that the previous damage had clearly been repaired. At the time of purchase and in the purchase contract there was only mention of a small repainting
