Tracking macro factors in economy in google sheets, any free templates / or you use?

So there are a couple of macro factors out there, beyond the obvious S&P, DOW, NASDAQ movements, but for example, inflation rate, CPI, USD dollar to X currency, treasury rates, high yield OAS rates, etc. Is there any google sheets that you use (thats free) to help summarize and track this in a simple dashboard? I dont need real time so much as current value, maybe also the past 1 month , 6 month and 12 month range (or more). To help get a reading on the some of the macro factors involved in the

Europe hits 40ºC as heatwave threatens tourism industry, wildlife

A severe heatwave gripped much of Europe on Sunday, with temperatures nearing 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit), prompting nationwide warnings, transport disruption and signs of strain on wildlife and at tourist hotspots. The heat surge on June 21, the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere and typically the start of the three hottest months of the year, raised concerns of an early and persistent onset of ‌extreme conditions. After several days of temperatures above 35 degrees,...

Vance in Switzerland for US-Iran talks as Strait of Hormuz closed again

A new round of negotiations over the Middle East war was set to kick off on Sunday as Iranian negotiators and US Vice-President J.D. Vance arrived in the Swiss host city, even as Tehran said it was closing the Strait of Hormuz again over Israeli attacks in Lebanon. Before boarding his flight to Europe, Vance told reporters he hoped to “make progress on the nuclear issue, make progress on the Lebanon ceasefire issue. Those are the two big things that I think we’re going to be focused...

Italy’s Meloni let Trump’s jibes slide for so long. Now, she’s hitting back

US Donald Trump has sparred with most of his fellow Group of Seven leaders at some point. But Italy’s Giorgia Meloni this week did something none of them dared: she escalated. Unlike Spanish Socialist Pedro Sanchez, one of the few leaders in Europe who has made political capital of being berated by Trump, the Italian prime minister had stood out as one of the few Europeans he actually liked: an outspoken conservative at ease talking Maga. But Meloni has also transitioned from a populist...

What is a good index fund I can drop some money in and just leave it?

For context I am 15 and just got my first internship. I am planning on investing all 3000 I get from working over the summer, since my monthly expenses are basically me just grabbing a drink occasionally. My goal is to have put in 10k into the stock market by the time I’m 18, and then to start building an emergency fund and move out when it seems big enough to live off of for a few months if I need to, and to not touch the stock again until I want to pay off a down payment or retire, or if I wil

Trump escalates spat with Italy’s Meloni over G7 photo claim

US President Donald Trump escalated a diplomatic row with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Saturday, accusing her of repeatedly seeking a photograph with him and linking the dispute to tensions over Iran and Nato. The clash has opened an unusually personal rift between Trump and one of Europe’s most prominent right-wing leaders, who had sought to cast herself as a bridge between Washington and the continent during Trump’s return to power. Trump had initially told Italian broadcaster La7.

Regions instead of MSCI World

Hi, I've had the idea for a while now instead of relying on one MSCI World, whose weighting I can't change, to instead rely on several region ETFs. Specifically, I have in mind the combination of S&P500, Stoxx Europe 600 and Nikkei 225. This means that the 3 core financial markets are covered in a manageable portfolio and I can adjust the weighting as desired. I realize that this requires a little more effort than with an MSCI World. I'm also missing some side wars

Beijing planning more surveys east of Taiwan to assert sovereignty, state media reports

Beijing will make maritime surveys in the waters east of Taiwan a routine matter as it seeks to assert its sovereignty following talks between Japan and the Philippines, state media reported on Friday. An article published by Yuyuan Tantian, a social media account affiliated with state broadcaster CCTV, said mainland China was “diversifying” its claims to the waters with a range of activities, ranging from military drills and coastguard patrols to natural resources surveys. It added that more...

Horses originated in America and reached Europe through China, fossil DNA reveals

Everyone knows the story: when Spanish conquistadors rode into the New World, Native Americans were stunned by a towering, four-legged creature they had never seen before. Horses, the theory goes, were a European import to the Americas. But a new fossil DNA study indicates that horses actually originated in North America millions of years ago and only reached Europe thanks to an unexpected genetic middleman in China. An extinct lineage called the Dalian horse, once dismissed as a local oddity in

Germany blurs defence lines with bet on Philippines’ old US base

The runway at Clark International Airport was built to launch American air power across Asia. Now, it is being repurposed to project German industrial ambition. Analysts say the multimillion-dollar deal to develop the former US military base in the Philippines illustrates how economic investment has become the new language of strategic power. The deal, struck last week during German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier’s milestone visit to Manila – the first by a German head of state since 1963 –..
