US citizens in DE: PFIC problems in the retirement savings account?

Is there already information as to whether the PFIC problem for US citizens in Germany also exists with the new retirement savings account? I'm pessimistic at first and assume that nothing will change, so that US citizens will still not be able to save UCITS ETFs cost-effectively DYI-like? Would the state “standard product” be possible? I realize that the law is still very new, but surely there are people who have been dealing with it for a long time? submitted by /u/101testing
