Investment for a baby

For parents out there: our baby (8mo) keeps getting small financial gifts that we'd like to keep strictly for him as well as start contributing smth for his long term investment account. I am looking if there is e.g. baby specific investment option with tax deductions/tax free or so. What are the best options out there, what are the paths you've went?
