How do people around you actually react when you say that you are investing?

I mentioned this in passing recently and got three completely different reactions. A friend said she was far too cautious for something like that. A colleague immediately asked which stocks I was buying. And someone else just said: be careful not to start gambling. I found it somehow exciting because everyone seems to understand something different about it. For some it's gambling, for others it's day trading, for others it's something only wealthy people do.
