Essential content

The state parliament in Bavaria has rejected a request from the AFD parliamentary group to abolish the EU CO₂ fleet limits. The application calls for the Bavarian government to work at national and European levels for the complete abolition of CO₂ fleet limits for vehicles. The reason for this is that the emission limits set by the EU put car manufacturers under pressure. The applicants see the limit values as too strong an intervention in the market. The aim of the proposal is therefore to completely repeal these regulations in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the automotive industry. The application was rejected with 109 votes against. 23 MPs voted yes, there were no abstentions.

No vote breakdown available yet — either the proceeding is still pending, or per-MP data will be fetched in a follow-up step.
