Essential content

The AfD parliamentary group has submitted a motion for a roll-call vote calling on the state government to reintroduce the regular review of the right to protection. The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) should check at least every two years whether the protection status of a person who entered the country as a refugee still validly exists. In addition, protection titles of any kind should generally only be granted for a limited period of time and a transition to permanent residence should no longer be possible. Since 2022, the reviews have taken place on an ad-hoc basis. There was a recommendation for a resolution from the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee, which recommended that the application be rejected. The application was rejected with 129 votes against. 29 MPs voted yes. There was no abstention.

No vote breakdown available yet — either the proceeding is still pending, or per-MP data will be fetched in a follow-up step.
