Amendment to civil service career law
The SPD parliamentary group has voted on an amendment to the state government's draft law to modernize the public service. Specifically, the draft law is about so-called career law. This regulates the career paths and working conditions of civil servants. Contrary to what is proposed in this draft law, according to the SPD amendment, overtime of up to five hours should be eliminated again, as this would mean a blatant increase in regular working hours and would further reduce the attractiveness of the public service. The responsible Interior Committee recommended accepting the draft law unchanged and consequently rejecting the amendment. The SPD's amendment was rejected with 71 yes votes to 106 no votes. There were two abstentions from Enxhi Seli-Zacharias (AfD) and Andreas Keith-Volkmer (AfD). The unchanged draft law was then adopted with votes from the government factions from the CDU and ALLIANCE 90/THE GREENS.
