The Alliance 90/The Greens parliamentary group has submitted an urgent motion for a vote in the state parliament. It calls on the state government to examine the possibilities of banning the AfD from a party at the federal level and in Bavaria. If the opportunity exists, the state government in the Federal Council should participate in initiating and preparing such a ban procedure. The background to the application is the report by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution published in May 2025, in which the AfD was classified as right-wing extremist nationwide. Due to a lawsuit filed by the AfD against the classification, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution has currently promised to stand still. The AfD is currently no longer described as a right-wing extremist until the legal dispute has been resolved. However, there was no distancing from the classification in terms of content. The application was rejected with 125 votes against. 42 MPs voted yes. There was one abstention from Carl Freller (CSU).

No vote breakdown available yet — either the proceeding is still pending, or per-MP data will be fetched in a follow-up step.
