Essential content

An emergency motion from the AfD parliamentary group, which calls for a clear commitment to protecting life and the human dignity of unborn life, was rejected in a roll-call vote. Specifically, the AfD parliamentary group demands that the state government expressly affirm the right to life and affirm Section 218 of the Criminal Code as “non-negotiable”. In addition, pregnancy counseling centers are to be strengthened in terms of personnel and finances and the services of the state foundation “Help for Mother and Child” are to be specifically expanded. To justify this, the AfD refers to constitutional protection obligations and current dropout numbers, from which it derives a need for political action. The emergency motion was rejected with 126 votes against. 21 MPs voted for the motion and there were no abstentions.

No vote breakdown available yet — either the proceeding is still pending, or per-MP data will be fetched in a follow-up step.
