Essential content

The AfD parliamentary group has submitted a motion to the Bundestag that calls for the so-called combustion engine ban to be withdrawn. From 2035 onwards, only zero-emission cars will be registered across the EU in order to reduce pollution, particularly CO2 emissions, in the transport sector. There are currently discussions about weakening the strict regulations at EU level. The AfD parliamentary group sees the ban on combustion engines as the cause of falling production and endangering jobs in Germany. The proposal calls for the complete abolition of the combustion engine ban in order to improve Germany's overall economic situation. There was a recommendation for the application from the Committee for Economic Affairs and Energy, in which the rejection of the application was recommended. A roll-call vote was taken on the recommendation for a resolution, which was accepted with 433 votes in favor and 138 against, with no abstentions. The AfD parliamentary group's application was therefore rejected.

No vote breakdown available yet — either the proceeding is still pending, or per-MP data will be fetched in a follow-up step.
