Essential content

The AfD parliamentary group has submitted a motion to the Bundestag calling for the reintroduction of agricultural diesel reimbursement. The agricultural diesel refund of 21.48 cents per liter is to be paid out retroactively to January 1, 2024. In addition, the CO2 pricing on diesel fuels should be abolished without replacement. The measures are intended to strengthen the competitiveness of German agriculture in the European internal market. Due to the gradual reduction in the reimbursement until 2026, which was decided in 2023, according to the application, small and medium-sized businesses in particular are now getting into financial difficulties because they are heavily dependent on agricultural diesel. The measures threaten the existence of many companies that are already under economic pressure. The Finance Committee made a recommendation for the application, recommending rejection. A roll-call vote was taken on the recommended resolution, which was accepted with 436 yes votes to 126 no votes, with no abstentions. The AfD parliamentary group's application was therefore rejected.
