An amendment from the ALLIANCE 90/THE GREENS parliamentary group to the federal government's bill to amend the energy tax and electricity tax law was rejected in the Bundestag. The federal government's original draft law provides, among other things, to ensure the continuation of the electricity tax reduction to the EU legal minimum for companies in the manufacturing sector and agriculture and forestry. The draft law is also intended to make simplifications possible in the area of electromobility. Many changes to the law are justified by the need to reduce bureaucracy. The Greens' amendment proposes a number of changes to the federal government's law. The reduction in electricity tax announced in the coalition agreement is called for. According to the application, the general reduction in electricity prices would eliminate numerous exceptions and relief regulations, which would significantly simplify electricity tax law, which in turn would relieve the burden on administration and business. In addition, all consumers would benefit from the reduction and the electrification of the economy would be promoted. The amendment was rejected with 313 votes against from the government parties. 244 MPs from the ALLIANCE/THE GREENS, Die Linke and AfD factions voted yes. There were no abstentions.

No vote breakdown available yet — either the proceeding is still pending, or per-MP data will be fetched in a follow-up step.
