The Bundestag has approved a draft law from the federal government for a subsidy for transmission network costs in 2026. Network operators will receive a total of 6.5 billion euros from the climate and transformation fund so that the fees for using the transmission networks and thus also the electricity prices for consumers can fall. The subsidy is regulated by a new paragraph 24c in the Energy Industry Act and is intended to noticeably reduce the cost burden on electricity customers. The Committee for Economic Affairs and Energy made a recommendation for the draft law, which recommended its adoption in an amended version. There was also a report from the Budget Committee on financial feasibility. The federal government's bill was approved with 309 yes votes. No one voted against it, but there were 238 abstentions from the opposition.

No vote breakdown available yet — either the proceeding is still pending, or per-MP data will be fetched in a follow-up step.
