In the final roll-call vote, the 2026 budget law was approved with some changes. A total of 524.54 billion euros in expenditure is planned for the 2026 financial year - an increase of 21.54 billion euros compared to 2025 and 4.4 percent more than originally planned in the federal government's draft law. 58.35 billion euros of the planned expenditure will go to investments and 449.91 billion euros to commitment appropriations, i.e. payments that will only be made in the coming financial years. Net borrowing is expected to be 97.96 billion euros in 2026, and here too higher spending is assumed than the government originally estimated. Revenue from taxes and similar taxes is estimated at 387.21 billion euros (2025: 386.84 billion euros). There were several recommendations for resolutions on the government draft, including various recommendations for resolutions on certain individual plans. The Budget Committee also submitted a report on the draft law. The 2026 budget law was approved in amended form with 322 votes in favor to 252 against, with no abstentions.
