Issue visas for Afghan nationals with acceptance confirmation
In a roll-call vote, a motion from the ALLIANCE 90/THE GREENS parliamentary group was rejected, in which the federal government was called upon to consistently implement all existing acceptance commitments for Afghan nationals. According to the application, people who have received a confirmation through the federal admission program, the human rights list, the bridging program or the local staff procedure and who have been security checked should immediately receive a visa and be flown to Germany. Afghans who were deported despite being accepted for admission should also be brought back to Pakistan, their procedures completed and then also brought to Germany. The representatives also demand clarity for those affected. The federal government should inform them whether their accommodation in Pakistan and the processing of their cases can continue in the coming year and whether visas will continue to be issued. At the same time, it should negotiate with Pakistan to extend the deadline for processing and departure beyond December 31, 2025. The parliamentary group bases its proposal on the significant deterioration of the human rights situation and profound violations of fundamental rights in Afghanistan since the Taliban came to power in August 2021. The proposal from the ALLIANCE 90/THE GREENS parliamentary group was rejected with 440 votes against, 130 votes in favor, and no abstentions.
