In the Brandenburg state parliament, the state parliament's rules of procedure for the 8th electoral term were approved. The basis for the vote was a recommendation from the main committee, which recommended that the state parliament adopt the new rules of procedure. The main committee developed the draft based on an order from the constituent meeting and, among other things, dealt with issues of data protection, committee work and parliamentary regulatory measures. A central point of contention was the introduction of a fine. According to this, the President can impose a fine of 500 euros for a more than minor violation of the order or dignity of Parliament, or 1,000 euros in the event of a repeat offense. In addition to the rules of procedure, the rules of procedure contain further changes, for example to question time and current hour, to the work of the committees, to hearings, live streams of public committee meetings, data protection and confidentiality. The recommendation was approved with 48 yes votes to 35 no votes. The state parliament has thus adopted its final rules of procedure for the 8th electoral term.
