Introduce driving license support for trainees
In a corresponding emergency motion, the AfD parliamentary group is calling on the Bavarian state government to introduce a so-called “training bonus for driving licenses”. The aim of the program is to attract more young people to vocational training and to counteract the shortage of skilled workers in Bavaria. According to the application, trainees in Bavaria should be able to receive an interest-free loan of up to 4,000 euros to acquire a class B driving license. Among other things, driving lessons, test fees and other costs related to driving training are to be funded. The prerequisite would be for those affected to complete their first training in Bavaria for at least two years. If you successfully complete your training with a certain grade point average, the loan should be completely forgiven. The applicants justify their proposal with the shortage of skilled workers and the high cost of driving licenses. Especially in rural areas, mobility is often an important prerequisite for being able to begin training. The funding is intended, in particular, to improve the training opportunities of young people and to make it easier to fill open training positions. The emergency motion was rejected with 108 votes against and 25 votes in favor. There were no abstentions.
